I don't know how well they work against magic, but it might be a good idea to get the info on the Steward to the magic users, too. At least as a heads up.

These things are a pain in the ass to fight. It takes more than just a couple bullets to bring them down. The better prepared everyone who's jumping in to do something about it, the better.

I emptied the MP5 at least twice before I got to Kitty, and I know they gave Mal's crew a hell of time before we managed to get out of there.

Before that, earlier today, I couldn't even bring one of the shadow things down with just the Glock. It was like shooting caps at it or something.

So in terms of guns, they're not particularly effective. I suspect that swords might work better, but close-range combat is always a little touch and go.
