Sidney Crosby: U MAD?

Mar 26, 2010 02:46

This was me during the entire time typing this.

First let me start off with saying that I'm not mad that people hate Sidney Crosby. Not everyone likes him, I'm ok with that. But what I truly do not understand is when people call him names that don't make sense. Examples: Crybaby, Girl, Pussy, Vagina, Bitch, Faggot, Gay, Cindy, etc. Basically most of these insults are too imply that he is less than.

First lets start off with "Vagina/Pussy/Bitch/Girl." Now I am a woman, I have a vagina. And this insults me. Why is it ok to call someone a these names in a negative way. That's like saying "I hate vagina's. I hate Sidney Crosby. He = Vagina." Now if a man is saying that, he is saying his hate for Crosby equals his hate for vagina's or women. I think you can comprehend what that implies. Now if a woman says that, well that's just insulting to herself and women all over. Just like when a man or a woman call Crosby a girl. Which implies that girls suck at sports. I can see why a man would use that if he's a closed minded sexist pig but if a woman says that then she must be an idiot. Hopefully I haven't lost you yet. Now that we got female genitalia out of the way lets move on to "Crosby is a faggot/gay."

I would think that anyone who lives in this millennium would figure that calling someone gay is offensive to gays but apparently people haven't moved on from the 90s so let me explain my point. "Sidney Crosby is so gay." Wait, he likes men? What does this have to do with him playing hockey. Oh that's right, nothing. When you call someone gay, does this mean they have sex with members of the same sex? Or is it the type of gay where someone uneducated would use it as an insult because they are mad? I believe it's the latter. Does Crosby's gayness really affect the outcome of hockey games? Some would say it affects his ability to grow a mustache. However, even if Sidney Crosby were gay, I'm pretty sure he would still be Captain, still win the Stanley Cup, still score that winning goal for Gold in the Olympics, still be better than you, and still have many women of all ages going crazy over him. And calling him gay is offensive to those who are gay. It simply implies that gay people suck and can't play sports or do pretty much anything. Now that is not very nice of you. Would you tell Elton John he can't sing at the Grammy's because he is gay? No, you wouldn't because you respect Sir Elton John and everything he's done to the music world. Just saying. Now, that we've established that, let me tell you about when people call him a crybaby/diver.

Most of what the haters say are over exaggerated, over opinionated, things they have heard from others/other people's spewed opinions, attempts to hide the jealousy remarks, and downright idiotic hateful comments. None of these are facts. When someone calls Sidney Crosby a crybaby/diver, they are referring to something they may have seen or heard of a long time ago. It's like if I wanted to call someone out on something that happened a while ago, something that's long forgotten. Maybe something I wasn't even around to witness. It just doesn't work and it makes you look stupid. What I find troubling to understand, is why people hang on to something that happened so long ago and bring it up at irrelevant times. It seems like they are living in the past as one would say. After all he's accomplished, no matter what he does. That one thing he did to piss a lot of people off, who aren't even Penguins fans might I add, just keeps hovering over him like a storm cloud. Obviously to Penguins fans, that is kept in the past and is only brought up by people who are mad.

But why are these people so mad? Jealousy. Most of us and I mean pretty much all of us Penguins fans, rarely ever talk about other players. Alexander Ovechkin would be a great example. We usually only talk about Ovechkin when we are playing the Capitals or when he does something stupid and everyone praises him for it because he's not Sidney Crosby so to them anything he does is considered amazing. The fact is, we don't sit around complaining about him. We don't call him a girl or a homosexual. We don't say he sucks, (ok we do but we all know he doesn't suck but truth be told, he hasn't won a cup or won gold or lead his team to victory yet.) We dislike him because he is on a team we rival. We have opinions like calling him ugly when we see his mug everywhere but the truth of the matter is, we aren't calling him something he is not. Sure maybe his hits can be dirty but honestly, all we care about is our team and not what the other teams are doing. We don't watch other teams to watch them fail. We do the occasional shit talking on game day. We make jokes but we don't call someone something they aren't. I can't speak for everyone but I'm pretty sure that is the majority of us Pens fans. My point, why talk about someone you hate so much, more than your own team? Why go to such efforts to showcase how much you hate him? Because it is the simple fact that you hate what you can't have and what you can't have is Sidney Crosby. So by talking shit about him, you protest that you are right in your hatred when you have no point and you just come off as a hateful bastard.

So, haters before you go calling Sidney Crosby any of these names. Think about what you are really saying and if you really meant it. If you did, chances are you are a complete moron who's so jealous, you can't even stop yourself from talking about him more than your team. And none of this affects him the slightest. He is so well put together that it makes me admire him more and more every time someone says some stupid shit about him. He is a great fucking player. Not the next one, the best fucking one ever. And nothing anyone says is gonna make me believe otherwise. He is not perfect, he makes mistakes just like the rest of us. So it's understandable when someone complains about him doing something wrong because they hold him up to such high standards. You better believe he exceeds them. He's a bad ass fucking leader who can throw a few good punches when he needs to. He's not even in his prime yet and he's done so much. He's done so much for this team and the fans. I'm not a fangirl by no means. I am just a girl who is way beyond proud of my captain.

And that is all I have to say about that.

u mad?, sidney crosby
