life update

Things are good. I feel like I'm hibernating in my basement, but it's awful out there. I can now draw blood, do cervical checks, and theoretically ( Read more... )

It's so good to hear from you! It sounds like you're all having fun and enjoying life, so yay!!

Puerto Rico is beautiful! My mom and I went there the spring after my dad died, and it was wonderful. Just don't be like my mom and find it shocking that it actually rains in the rainforest, hehe.

It's probably only an issue if you take a tour of the rainforest, but yeah . . . it rains there. ;-)

i cant wait for our first no-kid weekend. have tons of fun.

and i really need to read up more on unschooling - i really wanna do it, but it's so hard "staying home" with lucien. he gets bored and surly and doesnt want to do anything but watch tv or play on the computer.

We don't do much TV or computer (are currently on a total TV ban). The kids like to make stuff, Julian likes math, we go out a lot (we grocery shop 3-4x a week, go to the library twice a week, Luka's preschool, ice skating, random errands. And the kids play together really, really well 90% of the time.

i started something bad letting lucien play on the computer while i got marcus napping cause it was the only thing that would keep him from coming back in the room and bugging us. now he pitches a fit every time when i try to get him off. and then he says "i didnt get to watch tv today." *argh* i wish we had an extra room to keep all the media stuff so it wasnt so much a fixture of the room.

and grocery shopping with the both of them at this time is utter chaos. it's getting to the point i dont purchase anything or run errands with them both unless i really have to and ive got 3 hours to shuffle around target and then the last hour im spending my time reminding lucien he's not getting anything and we all leave on the edge of tears.

im trying to "stay positive" but i swear there is something "wrong" with him.

This has to be the first time in my life I've ever come across the phrase 'old placentas,' no question!

You haven't lived until you've sawed open and sewn back together some freshly thawed, mushy placentas.
