Despite a disappoiting failure to curry favour with the University of Californina at Los Angles, things are generally looking towards the good side. Besides University of Washington, I got into U.C. Irvine, they say they will give me $9,000 a year to go there. Yesterday UC San Diego sent me an e-mail saying that I was invited to a reception for students who have been accepted. Big deal, who gives a shit a border town known for its Zoo? Today, though, Boston University sent an e-mail along the same lines. This is awesome because Boston is one of my top choices, it is on the East Coast, has that elitist liberal feel to it (ok, not that eltist, but somewhat), and is full of liberal arts goodness. I was also accepted to the conference at Asilomar, but that wasn't too much of a worry, but still cool.
swiming:
There seemed to be unanimous consent that the first 25m i did was the best swiming I ever did and that I kicked ass. Otherwise, we lost the meet but it was fun, filled with cheering, getting cold, ex-seniors from last year, and Asians. And do I mean Asains, our team is now majority Asian ( I think), but O-High doesn't seem to have anyone with decent west of Bangladesh.
