Fuck you San Antonio. Just another reason why I hate the state of Texas (no offense to my Texan brethren out there in LJ land, it's nothing personal).
From now on the NBA playoffs will be forever tainted with the images of your dumb, blank-faced, wide-eyed stares at the officials as you stand with your hands permanently raised in the "What did I do?" gesture.
It will be an overwhelming pleasure to watch Kobe Bryant, Derick Fisher, Lamar Odom, and Pau Gasol run the daisy chain on you. Enjoy.
I must give massive props to Chris Paul, David West, Peja Stojakavich, Janero Pargo, Tyson Chandler, Byron Scott, and the entire New Orleans Hornets organization for giving me a reason to be a fan of professional basketball again. I have never seen a team that young play with as much drive and emotion as they did. The three games I attended during the regular season were simply amazing experiences. I predicted early in the season that they would go to the playoffs, probably as a 7 or 8 seed, and get knocked out in the first round. I never would have believed that they would win their division, go into the playoffs as a #2 seed, and make it to a Game 7 in the second round.
My immediate disappointment will wear off in a couple of days. It was an awesome season.
