It was lucky for Neil, and perhaps unlucky for Tieria, that Tieria didn't actually sleep all that much. He didn't actually require it, much like eating and all that, he really just entered what boiled down to being a sort of hibernation mode, he was fully aware of the things going on around him he just, appeared to be sleeping. However Tieria didn't exactly enjoy the whole concept, he felt it was a waste of the time he was given. And so late into the night (he assumed it was night, people generally had some sort of a sleep schedule here), so he was sitting at his desk, doing his best to find a way into the deeper files of the computer system that was provided to them ( ... )

He almost managed to catch himself when his support moved out of the way, stumbling a bit. But he wobbled a little too much and found himself virtually face to face with Tieria, steadying himself with a hand on either one of the smaller man's shoulders. He tried to keep from laughing, but he really couldn't.

"Sorry!" He didn't bother to try and stand of his own accord, just continued resting on him.

"Hope I'm not inter...interrer... bothering you."

Tieria nearly stumbled out of the way as he realized Neil was falling towards him, but then realized moving would mean Neil would fall victim to gravity and subsequently, a good deal of pain, and while he might have done this for a different Dylandy, he just didn't have it in him. So despite being completely flustered by the sudden contact and sudden very very close proximity. He felt his whole body tense up as Neil sloppily clung to him. Yes, this was decidedly very awkward for Tieria.

"...its quite alright. I was investigating the network." he didn't know why he bothered to mention it, Neil wasn't going to remember it in about 5 minutes anyway. He'd be surprised if Neil even know what he was talking about.

"Would you prefer...to sit down?" he offered helplessly

It was true that Neil was having difficulty remembering things. In fact, he wasn't even sure why he was here anymore. But he honestly didn't care. He was far more pleased with his current company than he had ever intended on being.

"Sure. Sitting sounds great!"

In this close proximity he suddenly found himself thinking that Tieria smelled rather good. Without realizing what he was doing, he found himself leaning in closer than he probably should have to get a better idea of where the smell came from. Upon closer inspection, it was just as he had hypothesized.

"Your hair smells...really nice..."

Tieria was doing his best to lead Neil towards his bed (he rationalized that Neil had very little control over his actions, the bed was a larger area for him to throw himself onto, rather than the chair, which Tieria thought would only end in another painful reminder that gravity works - Tieria hated earth's gravity), but Neil was slightly resistant as apparently something was very interesting somewhere above Tieria's head and he didn't seem to be able to walk and investigate the matter at the same time. So Tieria paused his in slightly futile attempts to get Neil to support his own weight ( ... )

After discovering the nice smell, Neil found himself almost clinging to Tieria (Almost? Tieria's opinion of it might be different). For some reason his presence was...just really nice. He finally allowed himself to be led to the bed, which all of a sudden looked terribly inviting. It was a good thing Tieria had decided on the bed instead of the chair, because unfortunately, when Neil went to sit down on it, he somehow forgot to let go of him.

Tieria was getting better about Neil falling all over him, partially because he had rationalized that Neil couldn't really control himself at the moment and if Tieria left it as something that Neil couldn't help, he felt considerably better about the whole thing.

However, Tieria being pulled on top of Neil as he fell into the mattress was also something Tieria was unable to justify to himself. He tried scrambling away but Neil's hands were decidedly insistent on gripping his sweater.

All he could really do was stare back down at Neil, hoping even through the intoxication he would understand the sort of social fauxpaux they were currently stuck in. Though the trouble was Tieria felt his heart beat speed up and he was suddenly feeling very warm and he really couldn't explain why. And he wasn't sure that he was entirely comfortable with that.

Initially, when the two of them toppled onto the bed, Neil had a laughing fit. Though he felt like a huge idiot, he couldn't help but see some humor in the situation. But after a few seconds of calming down, it sunk in that the other man was now laying on top of him. The sudden physical contact left Neil in a bit of a daze (as if he wasn't already in one). With a calm smile he looked up, his gaze meeting Tieria ( ... )

Tieria did his best to look away as Neil laughed hysterically at the predicament, really Tieria had yet to see what was so funny about all of his because he, internally, was panicking. He had to remind himself, for what he felt like was the 5th time in the last minute, that Neil was not himself at the moment ( ... )

The room was spinning, but Neil somehow managed to focus on Tieria. He pushed a piece of his hair that had fallen in his face behind his ear, and fixed his glasses that had become crooked. Then the warm smile that he had been wearing since coming melted away as he took in the others' panicked, awkward look ( ... )

Tieria had felt perfectly justified in his complete horror on the situation, though he was finding that it was slowly being replaced with a crippling feeling of guilt as he saw Neil's bemused smile fade into one of confusion. Perhaps he did have some sort of reasoning still, perhaps his inhabitations were not entirely absent. Perhaps, and this was something Tieria feared greatly, it was something he had wanted. Tieria looked away as Neil adjusted his glasses, which had been knocked askew, his eyes searching for something that he could possibly find interesting enough to keep his mind off the situation at hand. His attention was forcibly kept by the door across the room as Neil shifted positions ( ... )

He shifted again on the bed, this time so he could put both hand around Tieria from the back, still burying his head in the crook of his neck. His mind was losing the battle ( ... )

He felt himself shudder, biting down on his bottom lip as he willed himself to not cry. He hated that he wanted to, it was nothing but a sign of weakness, he had promised himself, he had shed the last tear on the behalf of Neil Dylandy and here he was, nearly beside himself with some sort of overwhelming emotion that he couldn't place. Neil had been gone for four years, and Tieria, while never having entirely let go, had told himself he could at the very least, cope now. Lyle's presence by no means made it easier for him, but he tried finding some solace in the thought that maybe Neil would have been complacent in his death, that maybe he could find no regrets in his life. He had lived fighting for revenge for the family he lost, hadn't he? He had died doing the same. Having him here now, however was only a reminder of how very wrong he was, all of his assumptions about the man who was now holding him had been nothing more than feeble attempts to soothe Tieria's own regrets ( ... )

Neil stopped immediately as he felt a warm tear hit his arm. His head shot up so fast it made his head spin terribly, but he didn't care. He tried shifting again without losing any of the closeness with Tieria. He still wasn't going to give that up.

When he saw Tieria's face his heart broke. He began to panic. Maybe he was wrong to assume that he would stop him if he didn't want it. Maybe he had overstepped a boundary. He willed himself to become sober again, steadying himself as much as possible, mentally and physically.

"What's wrong...?" Neil said with as much stability in his voice as he could muster, while gingerly removing Tieria's glasses and placing them on the bedside table. He regretted this slightly, because it meant he had to let go of him....but he figured this was probably better. Instead he placed a hand on top of one of Tieria's, while he moved with the other to wipe away his tears.

"Please...please don't cry. I'm sorry..."

Tieria's vision was already blurred through his tears, but any sort of distinction he could make was gone entirely as his glasses were removed. Neil was just sort of a warm blur next to him, anything beyond that was just a wash of color with no distinguishing features.

He closed his eyes again as he felt Neil's hand wipe away his tears, trying his best not to cry still harder. He didn't want Neil to feel as though he had overstepped his bounds (and maybe he had, but Tieria couldn't say he had ever been entirely opposed to anything that had just happened), he didn't want him to feel responsible for Tieria's own foolishness.

"No," he managed, his eyes still closed, using his own free hand to try to wipe his eyes "No you've done nothing wrong, I'm, I'm acting a fool. I'm sorry you have to see me like this, I'm being entirely unreasonable."

He tried to look away, trying to bury his face in the pillow his head was only partially resting on.

With Tieria's reassurance, Neil became terribly confused. If he hadn't done anything wrong, why was he still crying? What was it...he hadn't answered the first question. Maybe Tieria was lying to try and make him feel better. He wasn't really even sure. He decided it would just be much easier to take his words at face value. He allowed him to partially hide his face, but at the same time he laid beside him again, this time in front of him and pulled him into his chest. With his arms wrapped around him he rubbed his back comfortingly.

"It's okay..I promise it'll be okay." He half kissed the top of his head. He was suddenly very comfortable...and again painfully aware of how sleepy he was.
