I can't even believe what I heard today on a popular major radio station that my coworker plays at work. Station is crap: Stevie Ray Vaughan at least 3 times a day, Van Halen's "Beautiful Girl" at least 6 times per week, plus liberal doses of both 3 Doors Down/Creed whiny bitch bullshit, and fucking Bon Jovi/Winger/Motley Crue cockmetal bullshit... I shit you not... Sorry, the Hendrix and Floyd and Rush do not make up for it. I should also note that at least 90% of the commercials on this station are for 4 things: beer, jewelry stores, head shops, and strip clubs.
A lovely fucking commercial I heard today: "Hey normal MEN: We bet you're totally not like this guy. He listens to his wife, compliments her manner of dressing, writes caring and heartful notes instead of buying hallmark cards, and acts in a caring manner. Not you... fuck hell no, you're a MAN! So instead of caring about your wife, come here and buy her a giant honking piece of shit DIAMOND to make up for being a slackjawed cockfuck who can barely string 3 words together through your Miller Lite and Penthouse haze."
That's not why I wrote this... I was walking by the radio and heard something that made me WTF. I stopped and stared at it for a good 30 seconds just waiting to make sure I really heard what I thought I heard. The lyrics included a lovely theme... "She's not talking about jewelry... it doesn't cost that much... she wants a PEARL NECKLACE! PEARL NECKLACE!" I fucking fuck. I literally turned off the radio and yelled at my coworker and the fedex pickup guy "You have go to be kidding me, this is ridiculous" Fedex guy was all like WHUH? There was this old man fedexing right there and no one even paid attention... i was in a store alone with 3 men and one customer, listening to a fucking song about being jizzed on. I can't motherfucking believe this shit. I was so pissed I walked out the door and paced up and down the strip for 5 minutes. HOW does this clear the censors? I'm seriously not exaggerating one bit.
I want to know who does this song, but fuck if I'm googling that song title. mother of fuck. Right now I feel nothing but hatred for this society.
This is why I don't participate, or pay attention, because every single thing I see and hear just makes me sick and angry to the point that I can't think straight. I don't think it's an illogical reaction to a completely sick, amoral cultural mentality.
