I'm trying to get Mabry's room completed before my sister gets here from Natchez next week. Morgan is flying in to stay for a month and intern for us (she wants to be a photographer, too). So she and Mabry will share a room. We've got the bed in place. It was a gift from a local home school family. An Ikea bed with three drawers and a trundle. SO nice. We actually got two of them, but since they're rather large, I didn't want to put them both up until we're actually ready to move Fin in there, too. For now, the trundle will work for while Morgan is here.
Anyway... so we've got the bed, the vanity dresser that was mine when I was growing up, the wooden toy box that was in my nursery (and everyone who followed). And we've got a REALLY huge antique fireplace facade that I want to attach to the wall as a frame for the vanity. It'll provide a much needed higher shelf for no-no Fin items. Plus, it'll look cool. :D
I've moved the bed into two different spots and neither seems completely right. It's driving me crazy. I don't think I'll be happy with how it looks until we come back from our trip with the paintings that Jeff's friend is doing for me (in trade for a shoot). They're ENORMOUS and will go over the bed and the toy box. They're 3x4 feet (one tall, one wide). I feel like it's all the empty space at the top of the room that's making me not like what I see now. That's what having ten foot ceilings will do to you.
