Commentary Ch 18, Sho and Aiba, part 4 mmestrange September 16 2009, 16:19:59 UTC
Residual questions on the Sho and Aiba subsection

01) Those people chasing Aiba in the poppy room - what were they getting Aiba to agree to? Are we to know? Will Aiba remember?

02) Will Aiba’s escape and presence at the drug party be relayed to Iago? How will Iago react and what will Iago do vis-à-vis Aiba and his drug suppliers?

03) Aiba has been going on about why Sho didn’t ask him what he has been up to &ca, but Aiba hasn’t asked Sho what he has been up to. Will Aiba ever ask what was Sho doing near the fancy hotel of the drug party in the middle of the night while he was hanging on a branch for dear life? Why didn’t Aiba ask Sho? What’s he so afraid of triggering that he doesn’t ask Sho?

04) Also when Aiba says he wants to talk, Sho doesn’t reciprocate. Yes, he does says he will listen to whatever Aiba wants to say, yet Sho himself makes no effort to tell Aiba anything about what he (Sho) has been up to. All of which leads me to ask:
(a) Will Sho find out the drug party and the JE connexion? How will he find out and from whom? When he does find out, what will he think of Aiba’s presence in the midst of such chicanery?
(b) Will Aiba find out about Sho’s potential arranged match and about Iris? How will he find out?
(c) When he finds out, there’ll be a mini explosion and Sho’s promise of loving Masaki ‘forever’ will be put into more doubt than it already is. In light of this then, how will they have a working relationship capable of dealing with Iago?

05) Speaking of Iago, how will he move against Aiba? Will Iago use Sho against Aiba and play one against other. If so, how will he do it? What happens when the players realise they’ve been used as pawns?

06) How does this fissure in the Sakuraiba relationship tie in with Jun’s plan to subtly contact Aiba and Sho in the plan to move Iago?

[more to come. Going at my current speed, I expect to finish the commentary by Saturday]

Isn't it just wonderful how we're now moving into a mirror (gasp! I could do something with that too!!!) of Sakuraiba and Juntoshi dynamics. Oh so different, but so similar!

We should call Aiba our 'Little Sparrow'. It's so fitting for him. A fall from grace, the death of Aiba, or the death/end of Sakuraiba... I like that. It fits well with one of my future chapters.

And speaking of Iago, oh that old geezer doesn't need to do anything on the runaway train known as Sakuraiba. They've got plenty of ways to kill each other while killing themselves in the process. I would say that Iago may take a more spectator of a gladiator event type of view on them. Watching them destroy each other would be much more fun for the 666 boss, wouldn't you agree?

Of course, the spectator sport would be amusing for Iago and for us. But the sparrow has fled from his clutches, Iago isn't the type to take things lying down, that slimy bugger.

Ah... the mirroring is all there... and I love it. The ants, spiders and butterfly part is slow in coming but I'm working on it. About three or four more sections to come, on Ayu, on Daisuke + Gima, on kazu, and maybe one on misc observations. We'll see how it goes.

You are speedy when it comes to the analysis and commentary...I am supposed to be writing that stupid accounting analysis, but I am tired. So I'm taking a break and reading your commentary...

Mirrors to hide Juntoshi when Nino was dissolving Arashi, mirrors to show Daisuke lacks a reflection, mirrors to now reflect the similarities between Sakuraiba and Juntoshi...I'm toying with the idea of fun house mirrors in a haunted house for an upcoming chapter (it's not set in stone, but I think it might make for interesting thickening to the fog shrouding my subplots)...

Writing the commentary for yr fics, coughing up my own and reading philosophy and literary works are the only intellectual joys left open to me. *dramatic sigh*

Mirrors happen to be a theme in Itsumademo, high time it should be brought up, since I haven't glossed over it yet. House of mirrors sounds good, especially given our current cast of:
The insincere Cherry Tree
The bleeding worm
The Min worshipping wilting Apple
His Imperial Majesty Jun

Just leave my truffle out of this. I want to cosset the little darling for a spell.

[PS: sent you a couple of quotes. Hope they help. And no Machiavelli this time. Heh.]

Yes, thank you for those quotes. Admittedly, I did expect to see Machiavelli since he's been a fixture in our conversations, but Rousseau works for me. <3

Oh, you don't want dear Kazu to experience my horror house of mirrors with Daisuke the faceless doppelganger? *smirks*

Daisuke the faceless can go to the house of mirrors. So can Masaki, knight of the dismal face, and Sho, the corrupted blood agar dish as well as Ohno, devotee of Min.

But Kazu... I want to keep the boy by me. I've just fed him. It'll be bad for his digestion. Besides, he's been mamma's good little boy and I am fond of the lad... *smirks*

Most people would quote Machiavelli if they were writing a paper that you were drafting. That's too common. Most people associate Machiavellism with evil. Utter tosh of course, but people do believe it. So, I settled on Hobbes and Rousseau. Hobbes is all about mind fuckery in 17th C English. Rousseau is a rambling goat but he's an incisive observer.

Well said, my sensei.

I was meaning to get to replying to the rest of the commentary, but alas, I have been internet-less since Friday night. I have internet on my mobile, but my mobile doesn't let me respond with the little LJ commentary box. So, whenever I respond to comments, I have to be on a proper computer. It has been torture. I *NEED* my internet. I was extremely annoyed that I have everything up and running (*AND* the time to do it) and I had no internet. How vexing.
