Back in Madrid, feeling almost normal again. As normal as can be - my headaches caused by the damp and opressive clouds in Brussels (and also, very likely, the stress of the situation) are gone. It's still cold in the mornings, but the weather is much more like spring, so I'm feeling tiny tendrils of hope every time I step out on the balcony. I had my hair cut yesterday, which helped a lot, did loads of laundry and otherwise spent the day watching all sorts of stuff on tv, from John Oliver to Buffy, with a spattering of Big Bang Theory, and a very creepy documentary on Netflix called "Jesus Camp" about entusiastic ten-year old evangelicals. What is the difference to enthusiastic ten-year old islamists? Probably not much. These kids, they call themselves warriors, they would take up arms in a second.
Not happy about the hour less we're getting today. I'll try to get next week organized without stressing out too much. One thing to look forward to: on Thursday I'm going with Lydia to get my new tattoo: the first sentence of "Jane Eyre" in typewriter letters on my left forearm.
