New apartment!
On friday, we're signing the lease for our new apartment! This is actually the first
place of our own since we've been married. What a relief it is, really.
However, we don't have a lot to move in. Just a dining room table, our
clothes and some kitchen items. So, we get to go shopping (and VERY
frugally too) for a bed and some other necessities. At this point, I'm
just so excited we found a nice place at a great price that is close to
where both of us work I don't care that we have nothing! Luckily we do
have more in NJ and CA which we will have sent or pick up (NJ).
My new job is going well. I work for ARC (Association for Retarded Citizens) where I provide care and support in a home of mentally retarded adults. It really is an amazing job that leaves me feeling good for all the help I give them. It's a lot of housework but the reward of seeing them 4 days a week and having them trust me is quite warming! Sometimes it's frustrating because they need assistance with the most basic of things and may not fully understand what you're asking but it passes quickly and you can move on. I don't think I've ever quite felt this good after a days work. Tired, yet incredibly rewarded. Most likely in the same way I will feel if I become a Teacher or Special Ed. Teacher.
Finally, we have two incomes and will be able to live a little more comfortably. On top of it all, I'll have to option for overtime at work, EVERY week if I choose!
