[Spy is having difficulty with his accent. Sometimes it feels completely natural, and other times he feels as if he's slurring his words and switches to an American accent to sound comprehensible.]

[Spy spots the RED uniform and another flag goes off in his head. That's familiar, familiar in a way this town isn't. He stops walking to glance down at his cigarettes. These are his favorite, aren't they?]

...Sniper?

Temporary relief. Well, if you feel like running, zhat would be a good option.

[He sighs and leans against Sniper's vehicle.] At least it's Independence Day! That means bright and colorful fireworks! Doesn't that sound-- [he groans] Merde.

[He snaps his cigarette case shut again, his hand clenching around the metal tightly.]

Do not look at me like zhat. It is difficult-- I-- I can't remember if I really am from France or not.

Demoman...? [That sounds familiar.] Huh. Didn't think we had a need for those around here, it's so quiet and quai--

[He shakes his head in hopes of clearing it.] Moi aussi. I am sure 'e would 'ave our 'eads if we attempted to grab more zhan one under 'is nose.

[He flinches a bit at that. He isn't sure what his mind would do if someone else called him by his real name.]

It 'as been a while since I 'ave gotten drunk wizh a teammate. [A wry smile.] I do zhink it would be appropriate, oui. Especially since it's--

[Bites his lip. American holidays are filthy, American holidays are filthy]

[He follows Sniper inside. When the man disappears to get the drinks, Spy collapses onto some arm chair, something that looks comfortable, he isn't really paying attention. He decides that he's stressed enough to smoke the foreign-but-not-foreign cigarettes and lights up.

It takes him a good amount of effort not to choke on his cigarette when he lays eye on his companion.] Wow. What a... Dandy apron you have there, friend.

[He screws his eyes shut and takes a long drag.]

If you 'ad donned such an outfit, I am afriad I would 'ave been torn between mauling you and embracing you. I despise American 'olidays.

[He downs the alcohol as quickly as possible.]

[The scrumpy is a bit much for him, as well. He coughs but tries to cover it up, scrambling for his cigarette.]
