This entry might sound selfish and petty to some but what happened this morning means a lot to me and it really upsets me. I auditioned this week for The Merchant of Venice here at Salisbury. Much to my happy suprise, I got called back to read again, which didn't happen with the last play yet I still got a part, so I fell assured that I would at ( Read more... )

There will always be more plays, of course! Your passion hasn't been taken away, merely blocked for the time being. Clear the path and charge threw!

Some of my theatre major friends tried out for a play here at VJC just recently. They had the whole "call-back" thing and everything. (Come to think of it, I think the one girl had two call-backs, but I'm not sure.) They don't think they got the parts. Apparently the director gave a speech along the lines of "you are very good, and even if you aren't picked for this play, it doesn't mean we won't consider you for future plays." Sometimes there's just someone that catches the director's eye, and there's nothing you can do about it. That happened to me a Century with every play we did.

Anyway, (getting back to you), being that this happened yesterday, I hope you are feeling better. And if not, just remember that even directors can make mistakes.

Karen, you'd be an awesome crewbie!!!!!!!!! I've always known you were a crewbie at heart! Sorry about the lack of a part...but maybe this is your opportunity to show your stuff behind the scenes. You'll gain a totally new appriciation for everything. I know I did when I acted in the One Act. Remember that it's more fun to do it in the dark then to do it with people watching. So many kisses! Love you!
