Arr! Avast!

It's gonna be a pirate-y semester.

Yesterday was the day Alan and I had to collect submissions for the Pirate Showe and judge them. The turn out was a bit surprising. With the other themed group shows that people did (monster a year ago and robot last semester), there were lots and lots of small pieces with a few medium sized ones. With ours we got medium sized pieces and nowhere near as many as previous semesters. That probably had a lot to do with the fact that it's the first week of school, and even people who knew about it when we found out the dates at the end of last semester probably didn't work on it over the break anyway. Ah well. We got some amazing things so it's gonna be a good show. Alan's booked some pirate cosplayers to come to the opening and take pictures with people, which will be quick fun too.

My character design teacher is awesome and this class is going to be fun if I survive the workload. Apparently the way he does the class is that we have an overall theme. Last semester's was cowboys and this semester's is going to be what else but pirates. What is our homework for this weekend? To do a concept art piece of whatever we want (which is perfect because I either already have one done for the Pirate Showe or I can do the other idea I have) so he can see where we are now. And! We have to make 3 big inspiration/reference boards of pirate things to help us later. I am so glad I bookmarked costume sites and I've been looking through my saved images because I have a bunch of references saved from doing PotC fanart. So very happy. I'm doing this while I avoid thinking about the homework for my other classes.

I need to think of what I'm going to do for my book later on in Sequential Imagery. We don't work on it for a while, but I wanted to possibly combine that with my Special Studies work. For now I need to think of concepts and work on the Wow! project, which is stumping me.
