the clarinet festival we are required to go to is sooo boring. it is useful, i suppose, to someone who might perhaps CARE but that really isnt me right now. plus, it's mostly contemporary stuff. have ya'll heard of "the new complexity"? it's basically just showing how annoying you can be on an instrument. basically, mozart is to "the new complexity" as shakespear is to this poem:

it reminds me of the high-art and literature of modernism. elitist works that no one but those who STUDY them really benefit from. i guess we'll have to wait 50 years to see if this stuff was worth it.
i also got free tickets to the lansing symphony for tonight. that is so exciting. i like having something to do. something sophisticated and something i have to dress up for.
ps) it's raining. which means, it's not cold enough to snow anymore.
