Knock on wood but I love this year so far.
I am advising the club, "So, you think you can dance?"
I am advising the class of 2011 for the next four years.
I teach allllll freshmen and they rock!
So far, so good.

My classes have no been changed.
Thank God.
Applied to be the freshmen co-advisor.
Hopefully I'll get that.
Found out I got a $4000 raise... nice.
And if I get the advisor position, it's another $1400 (and keeps going up til it hits $2000 a year by their senior year).

After 10 blissful summer vacation weeks, I am back to work tomorrow.
The kids don't come until Monday, however.
As of this moment I am teaching 5 world history freshmen classes.
Three honors. Two college prep.
Life is good :)
Who knows what will be changed by tomorrow.
But I feel ready to go back so it's all good.

Since I have been bitching and depressed and moody on here lately, I thought I would update you on something good.
Yesterday I my kids baked me a birthday cake and cookies since I was out sick on Friday (Jan 5- I'm 24!!!)
Today I got Teacher of the Month for December.

I never thought I would see the day when I stopped using LJ.
I just don't care about it anymore.
I mean, there were days when I would post 10 times a day!!!
So weird that I have all but stopped.

Update:

I am thinking of moving. To where?  I don't know. Somewhere warm or west or both.

I am going to NYC December 27-29 to visit Crystal with Liz.

This is indeed a small world we live in.
My dad and I just went out to dinner and some guy was working there that I recognized but had no idea why.
I am one of those people who NEEDS to be in the surrounding that I know someone to recognize them.
For example, if I met someone while I worked at Hoyts and then saw them at the mall, I would have no idea ( Read more... )

My school has a district calendar that you can play with and view into the distant future but the furthest it goes is December 2039...
It, OF COURSE, made me think about how old I would be by then REGARDLESS of the fact that I may or may not still be at Northbridge.
By the way, I will be 56 (almost 57) by then...
My LITTLE brother will be 54.

I start my new job tomorrow!

It's officially August.
Which means that in 16 days I have my orientation.
Immediately after that orientation Liz and I are headed for Tennessee to visit Rachel.
Then August 23 I begin teacher stuff.
And finally, August 28 I am a full flegded fully employed adult.
I can't wait for someone to make the time machine that goes back to me being 14.
