So, I went on a downloading spree (which was dumb because now my internet is slow) and downloaded the Ouran segment from the LaLa Premium drama CD; and Ouran and Penguin Revolution from the LaLa Gorgeous drama CD.
Ouran first. The Premium drama CD segment was a dream that Tamaki had where the Host club was his actual family. It was really amusing that this occured: (by the way, this isn't direct translation, this is from memory. Later, I might put in a direct translation)
Haru: Dad~~ wake up
Tama: *sleep murmur* Call me 'king'...
Haru: Dad~~ wake up! Otherwise we can't have breakfast!
Tama: I said call me 'king'! Oh, Haruhi, good morning
Haru: Dad, get up. We need to have breakfast!
Tama: Dad? Dad?! I see! I'm Haruhi's real dad!!!
Twins: DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!!!!! DON! *jumping on Tamaki sound*
Oh it was cute. XD But the end got so weird. It was good, cos all the characters were like "are we really that family?" and it alluded to what's going on at the moment in the manga.
The Gorgeous Drama CD segment was much more old fashioned Ouran. As in, the Host club going on some stupid and cute adventure. Unfortunately, this was about food, and it took me up until the very end to realise they were talking about doughnut toppings. So, I didn't understand much of what was going on. Also, Hani-senpai repeatedly going "itadekimasu~~! nyumyumyumyum~~! Okaeri~~! Arigatou~ Takashi" in the background was really distracting me from what was actually being said. How sad )= I'll come back and relisten to it.
Onto the Penguin Revolution segment. Well, I'll start with plot. It's based off the chapter where Narazaki camps outside Yukari and Ryou's home (I'm calling her Yukari for a reason). The story starts off where the manga puts it, with Narazaki coming in and asking for Fujimaru, and Yukari saying "I am Fujimaru", then realising who Narazaki is, freaking out and saying that she is Fujimaru Yukari, Yutaka's little sister. And etc. So, the drama CD passes to the next day, and Yukari and Ryou are worried because Narazaki has camped out overnight and they need to go to school. Ryou decides to dress up as Ryouko and tell Narazaki off for camping on private ground and that he is annoying the neighbours. I don't exactly recall what happens next, but it leads to Narazaki knocking on their door again. And a funny conversation ensues, where Ryouko ends up being Yukari's older sister and Yutaka's younger sister. And then Narazaki asks to talk to Ryou, so Ryouko runs off looking for Katsuragi-kun. Ryou comes out several minutes later, and when Narazaki asks what took him so long, he says he was on the phone to Yutaka. Obviously, this sets a reaction in Narazaki, and he demands to talk to Yutaka on the phone. At this point in time, Yukari's just thinking "Baka Ryou!" so, she runs off, claiming to try to find Ryouko since they need to leave for school. Suddenly, Ryou's phone rings, and he picks it up saying "Fujimaru?" Narazaki snatches the phone, and Yutaka is talking to him. Again, didn't quite catch what was said, but it resulted in Ryou thinking "Baka Fujimaru" Um.. yeah.. unfortunately, my train of memory ends there, but they get Narazaki away, calm down, and then realise they're late for school XD
Well, onto discussing the voices. The big thing I noticed was that Yukari and Yutaka were voiced by different people, as were Ryou and Ryouko. To be honest, I found that extraordinarily unnatural and so I didn't like it all that much. I wish I could tell you who voiced who, but I don't know. At first, I didn't like Yukari's voice, because I found it too girly (because I didn't know that someone else would play her male half), but I liked Ryou's voice because it sounded like a voice that could pass for a girl. What amused me was that Ryouko's voice seemed deeper than Ryou's. Narazaki's voice...hmm... well, it wasn't what I imagined. For one, he sounded a lot older than I imagined, and there was something in the voice that wasn't as suave as I expected. He sounded almost brutish. I couldn't fit it to the character from the manga, but if by chance they make an anime of this, I may get used to the voice. Who knows....
Well I think this is longer than necessary for a drama CD thing, so
ciao for now
