Hello, heat wave. Hello, humidity. Gah. Things are all damp and sticky. Yuck. (I've given up and have started embracing one of the advantages of the small-busted: not needing a bra for support=not bothering with one in this weather.)
Today puts us about halfway through this trip, which has been the usual whirl of beloved people, tasty food, and failure to get much else done. (I keep having to remind myself that I do need to get work done while we're here. >.>)
I hate sunscreen, but I'm good at staying on the shady side of the street, and for the most part am relying on that (and so far, so good), but my upper right arm gets sunscreen even when nothing else does, because somehow I don't think turning up to my tattoo appointment on Monday with my canvas sunburned would be a good idea on any level.
Today's main activity is going in for my consult at the studio and seeing what the artist has done with my minimal notes and Pinterest board re: what I want to have done. I'm excited, but kinda anxious too, what with the whole "if the design doesn't speak to me, who knows when I'll have my next chance to get this done [in Toronto]?" aspect.
That said, it did belatedly occur to me that the turtle glyph is straightforward enough that, even if the splash(es) of color as envisioned by the artist don't work for me, I can still get the glyph done this trip and add color some other time. That's a comforting thought, since I've psyched myself up for getting ink done.
