I randomly feel like posting, even though according to tomorrow morning's 7:15 alarm I should've been in bed half an hour ago. The Thursday night-->Friday morning transition is always a bit rough. I got home from work a little before 10 PM--a fairly reasonable time, after only nine and a half hours at the office (including going in an hour early)--and will catch an 8:30 AM bus back to work. Whee!
Getting to work an hour early would've felt much more productive if I'd actually managed to deal with any of the small backlog we had (not of the same-day-turnaround variety, obviously), but no, my work computer wanted to run an update, and Firefox spontaneously updated itself and needed to be beaten back into shape via various add-ons and setting tweaks. >.< But at least I got that all taken care of before the official start time.
Given the current time, I guess I'm not getting any fiction writing in today. :/ I need to see if I can get my ten minutes (
ushobwri)/100 words (
mini_wrimo) done in the mornings sometimes.
Also, it's only the first day and I've already hit the point of "I've caught up on reading my flists, other than opening longer posts in tabs to read tomorrow/later (...yeah, I hear myself), but have largely failed to comment, because sleep is good". ^^;
ceitfianna mentioned that the gingerbread tea latte at Starbucks is tasty, and I relayed this information to Ginny. I'd taken enough tea to work with me that buying more (esp. at Starbucks) would've been silly, but Ginny got one and was very pleased. I expect I'll try it tomorrow or next week.
All in all, it was a perfectly good workday, and I'm extra happy to be working with Ginny again, even if it's only for this one bout of Casual Job. (Fingers crossed that she finds steady work after this.) It was more than a little weird for both of us when she left two hours or so before I did (she's working as a transcriber, not a proofreader); it's unusual for us to be in the same place (other than one of our homes) and leave at different times.
