I imagine at some point I probably posted about Jinksy's fur changing color? A quick reminder: he was black when we got him, and then his belly fur lightened to be unmistakably gray (I don't think I have a picture uploaded of that...), while the rest of his fur lightened just enough that you could only tell it wasn't pure black because he also developed point markings that were blackblackBLACK.
I think maybe I didn't post about the gray belly then gradually darkening again, leaving him all black, or as close as makes no difference (the points also stopped being particularly visible).
And now, over the past couple of weeks, his belly fur has become unmistakably brown-tipped, with some brown fur appearing on his paw pads. It looks lovely, as have the other stages, but WTF, cat genetics? O_o
(As far as we can tell, Claudia's lovely brown tabby coat hasn't changed in the slightest since the day we brought her home, other than getting longer.)
To go with my earlier post about my to-watch list: a couple of you specifically commented on Nikita and Dark Angel, and tonight the season 1 DVDs for both plummeted in price on Amazon.ca, so both are on their way. (Dark Angel S1 was $37 within the last 24 hours--whenever I last looked--and is currently $12; for ages, Nikita S1 has ranged from $19-$40-odd, and tonight it was $15. So. Yay, super-affordable DVDs!)
And
seanan_mcguire's Indexing is being released in print tomorrow! This is very exciting, since it was released as an Amazon Kindle-only, US-only serial, and I'm in Canada and not in possession of a Kindle.
Excitement doesn't necessarily mean I'll get it read immediately, because that's so rarely how things work out for me--I'm only now reading Velveteen vs. the Multiverse!--and because I have the last book of a trilogy waiting for me at the library, but Indexing will be put at the top of the (purchased)-to-read list. *^^*
Just a few links!
Via a couple of people,
starlightandstatic has made
a fantastic Pacific Rim vid to Vienna Teng's "Level Up" (separate from
the Aims Vid Album project)
This is a link to a fic rec for something I haven't read!
lunabee34 posted a
rec for a 200,000+ word LotR/Hobbit WIP. It's not a fandom I read in--and I haven't even seen the second movie--so I haven't clicked through, but the rec is compelling. (It sounds like it's a well-known fic, so possibly this isn't news to those of you in the fandom.)
sarcasm_hime linked to this elsewhere:
"Funk is not dead", in which a little girl dances and it's amazing. *_* My jaw dropped repeatedly.
