Anyone else having trouble with adding Memories on LJ? (Plus some links.)

Dec 07, 2013 20:04

I went to add a post to my LJ Memories yesterday, and instead of behaving as it always has, what happened was I got a pop-up for choosing what privacy level I wanted for it. I picked, and the pop-up went away, and...nothing happened. There was no apparent way to label it in any way. And to make it even more useless (this time literally), when I checked on my Memories page the only evidence that the newly-added post existed at all was an unnamed bullet point right at the top, and "1 entry". No link to said entry. No nothing.

I've poked around some of the LJ admin comms, but didn't see anything that looked like it would be relevant, and AFAIK they haven't done any extremely recent updates. Does anyone know what the hell is up?
A few quick links:

As always, Seanan is in the habit of saying excellent things on the internet. Yesterday she posted "Existence is its own justification" in response to discussions about representation in fiction. It's thoughtful and smart and appropriately angry.

A few days ago, ANN posted that Takaya Natsuki has gone on extended hiatus for unspecified health reasons (although Takaya-sensei specified that it's not the condition that put Fruits Basket on extended hiatus back in the day). ;_;

There've been a lot of things written about Nelson Mandela since his death, and rightly so. sabotabby's is my favorite of the things I've read.

And I'm only halfway through, but I'm really liking this review of Maggie Stiefvater's The Scorpio Races over on
ladybusiness. I need to read more of Stiefvater's work (I have at least two of her books in my terrifyingly extensive list of suspended library holds).
