2012 media intake & professional and fannish output
My media intake post has the specifics, but here's the breakdown of how much I didn't read last year:
Published adaptations, 2012:
In 2012 I wound up writing about 103,000 words, handily beating my
inkingitout goal of 75,000 words. I waffled about whether to sign up for
inkingitout again, and then decided to go for it. I'm aiming for 75,000 words again, because there's no guarantee that I'll be able to keep the momentum going, but even 75,000 would put me way above what I'd been managing prior to 2012.
My fanfic output, not surprisingly, had a very stark and extended break in the middle of the year. It's really nice to look at the list, since IIRC I posted only one fic last year and none in 2010. O_O (In fact, 2007 seems to have been the last time I made a separate post for my fanworks from the year, and even though I'm not doing that this year, at least I feel like I justifiably could.)
Overall, I wrote four fics each for Fruits Basket and Newsflesh (not counting the fics I wrote for Yuletide, since they weren't revealed before the end of the year).
In February I wrote two Fruits Basket fics for
terajk's Heroes Arrive Last fic challenge. Neither of them wound up getting titles (um, yeah, I meant to deal with that), but one was a Haru and Kisa fic for the prompt "hide and seek", and the other was a Haru/Rin fic for the prompt "hands".
Also in February, although I forgot to link them here until June, I wrote two short Fruits Basket Haru/Rin fics for Porn Battle XIII. They're both linked from this post, which includes titles/prompts/etc. (I'd actually forgotten about those two fics until I started putting this list together, but looking back at them now, I'm pretty pleased with how they came out.)
And between October and December there were four Newsflesh fics:

- 28 novels/anthologies (plus two rereads)
- 1 non-fiction
- 20 volumes of manga/comics (down from 110 or so in 2011. Um.)

- Your Dreams Still Escape [set early in Feed; no major spoilers]
- Hold My Life [set pre-Feed; no major spoilers]
