Hot weather will be the death of me. I do everything I can to avoid it, keeping lights turned off, windows closed during the day, open at night, fans on all the time. Roan is right along with me, he likes to stay cool and adores fans, but Maya Ray is a different story. She loves being outside no matter what, always wanting to go swimming or to a playground or anything. Neither of my children are that fascinated by television, I count my blessings for that, they'd much rather come up with their own games. I don't function well in the heat, but I don't get full days with my children often and hell if I'm going to waste them with a fan in the dark.
We went to a playground yesterday, which started with Roan and me following Maya around, then shifted to me following those two around. Maya will tell me it's okay, she's got Roan and I can go sit down, and I do, distance enough for independence, but close enough to dive forward quickly if needed. She's so wonderful with him, making sure he doesn't fall or get caught somewhere, never leaving him behind. I watched my beautiful babies and studied them, memorizing the expression Roan gets when Maya laughs and hugs him and how familiar it is.
I'll write about my children often, amoung other things, so if that's not your cup of tea, you can remove me now, I'd rather not be on your list if you hate reading my entries. If that's all taken care of, nice to meet you.
[new management. Fill me in on any significant storylines if there are any if you would.]
