What I did:

January - Bought a treadmill and resolved to use it. Used it for 2 weeks then I got in a bit of driving trouble. I love fines... and didn't touch the treadmill again!

February - I wanna say we were in Glasgow for Josh's birthday. I think his band played at Allys, maybe not. I also met my friend Laura this month.. Thank God I made a friend!!

March - My friend Tye came to visit. That's about it for the month.

April - My auntie Penny came to visit me for a weekend. I loved it! Other than that, April wasn't too exciting

May - Went to Billings for a long weekend to see Derek graduate from college and visit a few old friends. Also got to catch a Cinco De Tres (Mayo) show Clintons show at Santa Fe Reds while I was in town. The Bonnie Blues and Brews fest was also held in G-town this month. Again, another rockin' Clintons show while hanging with Heather for her birthday. Good times. I also really got into photography this month. I purchased my new camera and really feel like it brought me out of my shell a bit.

June - I turned 27. I think I went to lunch with mom, dad, and the girls at the Ray Cafe. And a co-worker had me come down to the bar for a drink. Woo hoo.. here I come 27! Tye came to visit.. again :)

July - Went to Matchbox 20 at the ND state fair with Noelyn.. that was awesome!! Marks family reunion was held in Saco. Got to see a bunch of family I hadn't seen for years! Great times had by all. The all class reunion was held in Glasgow that weekend also, but I was busy.. and didn't go. However I did make some time to hang out at the street dance thingamajig held down town, and got to see my old buddy Joey (Davis) Lilienthal. I did a little PR for a band called Saving Abel, and Josh and I got to go down to Bismarck to a free show with them, Rev Theory, Puddle of Mudd, and another band. Josh and I also legally changed our last name to Marks.. WOO HOO!!

August - went down to the Canen household in Hebron for a "family" get together. I also chopped my hair off and permed it.. Man I look sassy. I went to Great Falls to my friend Dianna's wedding. It was good to see Sammy and Marshea again. I sure missed those guys! It's also been 16 years since my dad died.

September - My landlord finally figured out I had a cat and he made me get rid of him :( Met Laura's cute friend Brad.. don't worry, nothing came of it. It was just fun to flirt for awhile.

October - This was a dull month. Got a little saucy at the end.. with my neighbor. But it's all worked out now, so it's not worth rehashing on here. Moms 50th birthday was an "ABBA" party.. Mamma Mia, it was pretty bitchin

November - I got to catch up with Chad on the phone this month. We talked for like 3 hours, it was pretty awesome. Also drove over to Fairview and watched Josh and John (of the Clintons) play a leg of their Heartless Wench tour. I did a little reevaluating this month trying to write down my "happy memoirs". i like to remember why I am where I am in life.

December - I went down to Hebron to see Jade and her clan. Tye also came down for another visit. I think I've seen him 3 times this year :)Sang "Child of Peace" with mom at church on Christmas Eve. We had a little party at Josh and Jodi's for new years with them, Laura, Tye and I.. it was nice and cozy. I enjoyed it and it was an early party as we were all drunken poopers :)

Reflections

2008 taught me how to be me again. I completely stripped away the extras and figured out what was really important to me and why it was ever there in the first place. I've experienced happiness and laughter, tears and sadness, friends gained, and good friends I've grown away from.
Everything that happened to me over the last year really helped me figure out where I was in my life and where I wanted to be heading in the future. I've learned that there is beauty in everything and a bad situation can only become worse if you don't find something good in it.

Resolutions for 2009

I don't really believe in resolutions.. because only I am able to make anything happen in my life and I should always try for the best.. not just what I write down on a piece of paper or type onto the computer.
I resolve that I will be true to myself above any others and continue my journey to become the best person I can possibly be. And as long as I am always striving for my personal best, I don't ever have to feel like I let myself or anyone around me, down.

friends, clintons, life, new years, family
