A true Friend Stabs you in the front

PLEASE RESPOND!!!
would you rather have-
a friend who...
a. talks to other people behind your back aobut their opinion of you or something you do, but for a good cause. but they never tell you in fear that it will hurt you feeling?
or
b. a friend who has the same opinion but tell you becasue they're concerned about you and want to help you?
personaly i would want a friend who does B, because i think that if they're going to talk aobut you, even thoguh it may be for ggod reason, until they tell YOU it's gossip. to talk behind someone's back to me is a fake friend, because if it was for good cause wouldn't they want to help you so you could change it? A friendship is based on honesty and truth, without it you don't really have a friend.
