dangermousie just posted an entry about Quietly Falling In Love With You (aka Knock Knock Loving You, which is a stupid name, and I won't call it that, damn it

I love twdramas - two of my Top 5 dramas are twdramas - The Outsiders and Mars (the others are kdramas Legend and Mawang and jdrama Pride). True, the production values of older twdramas aren't so great (the new ones are up to scratch, imo) but I don't care because the story is good - I prefer Meteor Garden with its $10 budget to Korean BOF which was an expensive mess.
I actually prefer darker twdramas - The Outsiders I & II, Love Contract, Mars, Silence etc.
I can think of a bunch with unhappy endings - Silence, The Outsiders, The Outsiders 2, Love Contract, Lavender, Sound of Colors, the one with christmas in the title the name of which escapes me, but I prefer those.
I agree. I actually prefer the older twdramas with the crappy production, because they tend to focus more on story. The newer slicker ones are pretty, but almost feel empty to me.
I thought of Silence, The Outsiders, Love Contract, and Lavender. Heh, I have Sound of Colors listed as a cdrama, so I missed that one!
I can't say I prefer the darker twdramas (though Love Contract is my favorite drama ever), but I do like the more serious ones.

SoC might be a cdrama - not sure. I am sure my new obsession Shanghai Bund ends awfully, but it's a cdrama too.
I am highly dubious of a happy ending for Black & White actually - no spoilers that I know off, but I wouldn't be surprised - an evil conspiracy and a cop with a mysterious past and a hotheaded another cop? Dooooooom.
Love Contract is such a love-hate thing for me: I love the main OTP but the rest of the characters bored me to death.
Oh, also thought of another sad ending one - Marry Me. Though I can't find that one subbed anywhere, dammit. By the same guy who did LC.
According to wiki, SoC is both a cdrama and twdrama. I only organized it as such since most of the actors are mainland actors.
I honestly have no idea. It might be one of those kinda happy endings, but not really. Kinda like Mars. I have a tendancy to think it won't end tragically, just because it's Taiwanese.
I'm in the definite minority with LC, I actually REALLY liked the side characters.
Does Marry Me end sadly?! That's kinda odd. I've read summaries for it (but yeah, I can't find it subbed either), and it doesn't seem like it'd be tragic. Hmm.
