Okay, first off, mad love to my flist! you guys are all awesome and have made me feel like part of the gang even though i'm still new. and mad props to
eponine119 for stroking the fandom love with her
meme (stop by and say howdy!).
ficangel tagged me for this, and the first thing i thought is, "have i written 5 fics?" i was pleased to find that, yes, i have (14, in fact!). :-)
Writer's Meme: Sometimes it's ok to pimp yourself out. Post a list of your top five favorite fics you've written, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn't about the BEST things you've written, but what you LOVE most. Then tag five other people to do the same.
1)
You'll Be Older Too - Because I wrote Kate! I tried writing this months prior, but it came out all melodramatic and I came close to just scrapping it. I came up with a different approach during an MRI (lots of time to think!) and I like the tone of it now. And I wrote it on a dark day, so it was definitely cathartic for me.
2)
Box of Rain - I like the fact that (hopefully) you're never certain if Sawyer's actually there or if it's just Jack hallucinating. And I love the dynamic between Jack and Sawyer in this fic - I'm a sucker for Sawyer taking care of Jack.
3)
Down Came the Rain - Sawyer's background has always fascinated me, especially given how little we know about it - there's a huge gap between his parents' deaths and when he tells us about his first con at 19. So much of how he behaves is based on defense mechanisms, so it was both challenging and rewarding to fill in those blanks. Picking the music was definitely the hardest part.
4)
The Other Side of Hope - This was my first original "Lost" fic, and it's both angsty and schmoopy. I think the character voices are reasonably on point as well.
5)
Matches - This one was so much fun to write! It was fun to think of creative ways to use the prompts from Lost Riffs. I literally had no idea where it was going and it just kind of wrote itself. Plus, it was my first naughty fic. ;-)
I don't know who has been tagged at this point, so if you haven't been yet, I tag you. ;-)
