About that news...

Um.

Um.

I don't know how to say this.

I got into university.

I guess April 27th is my lucky day. Received an email just now saying my official mumbo jumbo papers are on the way in the mail.

Not only that, I got an $8,500 scholarship. It's not like I'm going to Harvard or anything, so $8,500 nearly pays for an entire semester. Plus, it's renewable if I keep my grades up. I don't think it's sunk in yet.

I kept the applying part a secret, because I was so sure I was going to fail. No one else in my family has gone to college. My aunt graduated valedictorian, but couldn't go on to college because our family had no money. Actually, she was the first one in the family to graduate high school and everyone thought that was amazing enough. My grandmother was raised in a one room house without a floor somewhere in Hickville, Kentucky, so obviously she didn't even get the chance to get past elementary school. Not to mention that my parents were both druggies, and my mother was on heroin while I was pregnant so I'm lucky I have a brain at all. Even though I'm a couple of years late, this is kind of a big deal.

Everyone's jumping up and down here. *dies* Besides me. I don't know what to do, I'm so nervous. ;___; School starts in late August. Will I die before then? y/y
