A long, but necessary speech about reposting

Jul 19, 2010 22:01

Hi, guys. :)

You have noticed that in each art post that I make, I add this note asking not to repost my wallpapers anywhere. (Well, at least most of you have, and I'm grateful for that. ♥) However, there are some folks that either miss, or choose to ignore that note. It occured to me that maybe those who do so don't really understand the reasons ( Read more... )

I am so sorry that happened to you! I adore your work and I 98% of the time use it as backgrounds on my computer. I tried people stealing my work too, I do live photography and I found out a spanish magazine printed some of my pictures, but I never found out what magazine it was.

I hope people will listen to your warnings! and I can't wait for more things in the future!

Thank you for your support!

It's sad that some people think they can grab any pretty photograph from the internet and use it commercially. Just because it's there in the open doesn't mean it doesn't have an author. :(

Seriously? Two days to already have tag removed and wall reposted? I really have no words.

Bravo to you for the well written and emotionally honest post. I like to say that I have enough faith in people that they'll bother to read it if they can't be bothered to read a tag as they crop it off.

I am so frustrated for you! *hugs*

Thank you, sweetie! *hugs* I, too, hope this will help. People tend to ignore warnings when they don't understand why that's so important, but once they see the reasons hopefully they'll listen.

Very well written! And so true and so frustrating! I'm so sorry that you are continually being assaulted with this form of theivery, I wish there was a way that wasn't so expensive to block these people and make them realize that they really aren't that great and should have something violent done to them.

This was a great post, do you mind if I link to it as a reference for what stealing is, what it leads to and why you should credit and be nice to people because things don't magically appear, as you said, without hard work from someone? Just generally, you're a perfect example of awesome and talented people who don't deserve the crap they have to deal with.

Thank you, honey! I tried to sound reasonable and focus on expaining here, but this *is* very frustrating. :(

And of course I don't mind! I'm happy if I madaged to sum up some valid points that others can relate/refer to. *hugs you*

Yay! I would love to use it for people who think this doesn't really happen. I want to say, uh yeah, lookie here! And hopefully they will know that all their nonsense is really hurting the original artist out there somewhere. :(

*super hugs* I'm sorry this always happens to you. Your artwork is too good for these shenanigans.

I kind of envy those people that think this doesn't happen. :)

Thank you again. ♥

I had a piece of mine once pop up in a French magazine. It was weird. But on-air ads and blankets? That's just gross.

I think I remember that one. It was something Buffy related, right? :(

And yeah, it's surreal.
