Harry Potter and Valentines

Feb 25, 2014 21:03

So, while there hasn't been a lot going on lately, there are a couple of things I feel I should talk about.

1) I have a holiday plan for the year. A group of my friends and I are off to Cornwall for a week in July to stay in a really cool cottage. Really looking forwards to that.

2) On the 12 March I surprised Will with a trip to the Harry Potter Studios. He had no clue where we were going until we started seeing signs for Warner Bro's studios. By then it was a little obvious. I already knew he hadn't been and neither had I. I'd seen pictures from other people's trips and it looked amazing...

...and it was! All the costumes, props and sets were genuine and it was huge. Some of it was outside, like the Knight bus and Privet Drive itself. It was all so cool!

I managed not to spend a fortune in the gift shop. I only bought a cuddly Hedwig and a deathly hallows keyring. Will bought a wand.

Afterwards we drove to St Albans for dinner. I'd never been before, but Will said it was nice and I'm sure it is when it's not raining and dark. We had food in a little pub, which was nice and we wanted to go for a walk afterwards, but it was too cold and wet so we went straight home, listening to War of the Worlds as we went. Good soundtrack.

3) As everyone knows Feb 14th is Valentines Day and naturally Will and I had plans...Dinner and a movie in Bath. He made reservations at 2 restaurants and let me pick which one to eat at based on the menus. I went for the one that had steak on the menu. We both dressed up for the occasion, me wearing a nice dress I hadn't worn in years and him in a suit. The boy scrubs up nicely ;)

The meal was nice and just the right proportion, seeing how it was a three course meal and I can't handle big meals. The restaurant was just the kind of place you felt you had to dress up for, which surprised me when I saw so many people dressed causally.
Next we headed to the cinema to see Cuban Fury which I thought was the perfect movie for us to see. Technically a romantic comedy, but with Nick Frost and it's about dancing. Yes it's about a guy trying to get a girl, but there's a little more to it than that. Really good film.

Then it was back to my place for comedy and bed. All in all a wonderful evening and the best Valentines I've ever had. <3
