Kinda late with the updates at the moment. So much so I've forgotten what I've been up to lately. I had a week off work last week and I know I did things apart from go to the zoo, but I'm getting the days mixed up. I mean without guessing what day I did things on, here's a list of things I did.
* Spent a day in my PJ's drawing, writing and watching stuff.
* Visited Marek who was watching Batman and Robin when I arrived and reminded me why this movie is so bad.
* Visited an old work friend and had a good long batter
* Bought some new shoes in Chippenham.
And some other stuff.
Anyway, so far this week hasn't been terribly interesting, however I did go to a concert on Monday night.
A guy from work called Will, who I see movies with sometimes on Weds nights invited me to see Amanda Palmer live in Bristol. I only knew her as Neil Gaiman's wife, although I have one song she did as a duet with Voltaire which I really like. Since I kinda like Will and I don't get to gigs very often I thought why not? So I listened to some of her stuff before hand and thought it was all right. As far as the concert goes...it was pretty awesome.
There were a number of support acts, which mean she didn't come on to sing for over an hour, but she was the one introducing the acts and talking to the crowd in-between, so that was pretty cool and the support acts were good. As far as her music went, she played some stuff I'd heard the day before, so that was cool and even a couple of cover songs, including Common People by Pulp. She also crowd surfaced at one part, while singing and she didn't miss a note. That's impressive. Will and I didn't get to help her along, but we did pass along the long veil that trailed after her.
So, overall it was a really good show and I'd like to get to more this year. I have two already booked, both in London. Can't wait!
Oh yeah, and let me just add it's SO HOT! While I am so happy to finally be getting a proper summer and I don't want it going away any time soon, I wish we had better air conditioning at work and that they'd let me have a short sleeve shirt. Turns out they can't order one because they're changing the uniform soon. Then let me work in a vest.
Also, guess what the popular question of the week is? Have you got any fans? NO, WE'RE SOLD OUT. We have signs saying we're sold out and people still come looking and asking. We need a big sandwich board out side and a person with a bell announcing it in a loud voice.
