Getting out of this one horse town.
Today I rode the bus two miles to Derry Hill. Considering the fact I haven't gotten out of Calne on my own steam since moving back here, I'd say this is an achivement.
The bus driver didn't even know where Derry Hill was which makes me wonder how long he's been doing his route. But what was weirder was the look I got from the bus driver on my way back. I litrally got off the bus, crossed the road and caught the next one.
What I'd forgetten, since I haven't bought a return ticket in ages, is that tickets have the time you bought it on. And according to mine I had only left Calne 5-10 minutes ago. I just told him I was getting used to buses and left it at that.
My next step is to do the same thing, only instead of catching the next bus, wait for the one after. Then I'll take the bus a little further and then one day I'll take the bus the full 6 miles to Chippenham.
