Comments: Hello there people, I announce that my computer is officially broken. Yesterday I used my brothers computer, so now here you have it, new chapter :) You can find mistakes in this one, because I have no time or Microsoft word to send this to my beloved beta. I just hope that you'll enjoy my small work and comment. Everyone loves comments!
Going into the forest with the most dangerous person in the city is one thing, but running away from the rain of bullets through the unknown forest - is other. I would really enjoy slowly walking and talking, like in those fairy tales: slow music, clean air, birds singing. I know, it sounds really girly, but I rather enjoy that. Anything is better than this!
My small and sweaty hand slips from the bigger one and its grip tightens. "Hurry, hurry!" the blonde boy repeats panting, tugging me along without a break, as I almost fly instead of running. He's so fast!
Everything started with a calm walk and talking. The gang leader was actually polite and talked with me like everything was fine. I calmed myself down, breathing slowly, trying to push away the thoughts of being alone with my nightmare causer. The other didn't say anything gang-like, no pressure around him. I understood, that he came with peace, only wanted to talk to me, to answer my questions. But try to convince my body! I was shaking like a leaf!
"Are you okay?" Reita asked me, concern in his eyes. "You scared of me?"
My head shook on its own. What a sharp guy. "N-no..." Maybe I wasn't the first one who was shaking? "I'm just not used to you, that's all," I murmured, shaking head again. Well that's some lame explanation!
The leaders eyes narrowed, making small wrinkles appear next to it. He was smiling. "Don't worry Takanori, I won't hurt you," As if wanting to convince me, he patted my head, messing my hair. "I'm here to talk."
"Un.." I answered embarrassed. No one ever did this sweet gesture to me, my heart pounded happily for a moment. So I was right, he won't do anything to me. But... Can I really trust him?
"So," Reita started, eyes still narrow, bandana on his face fluttering in the wind as he straight up his back. "What do you want to know?"
I looked up at the tall blonde. He blocked the sun a little, so I was clearly seeing his features. Bleached hair was begging for touch, sweet, still narrow eyes looking back at me, making heart warm up. Like a sun.
Oh how I wish I could see that smile he's hiding.I thought, smirking to myself. I cleared up my throat, trying to make my voice to sound as soft as possible. Even if I feel a little bit better about this guy, I do need to know what's going on. "I just wanted to know what's happening around here," I kicked the rock in front of me. "No one tells me what's going on."
The plan of looking cute and innocent didn't work, the others eyes became calm and he crossed his arms on his chest. Damn it, usually things like these do work, don't they? I do started to think like a girl...
"Kai did half of the mission then," Reita said, looking somewhere in the deep forest. There was a silence for a little while, as he was looking for the right words and all I could do was fidget in my square of moss.
"What do you mean?" I asked, trying to avoid the silence. Oh how I hate silence.
The leader looked, capturing my eyes for a little moment. Again, the same concern in his features as he sighed and started talking. "Kai's mission was to bring every student home, including you," That 'including' just now really sounded like 'especially' or my mind is playing tricks non-stop? "He was told not to tell anyone what's happening, he did this part at least." His voice sounded a bit annoyed, but I let it be. My head was too desperate for answers.
"I won't tell anyone," Hey, I'm serious! "I promise that you can trust me." I added, reaching up my hand without thinking. Little pinky finger strech out,
Did I just wanted to make "pinky promise" with the gang member?
Reita looked at my face, unfolding his arms on his chest. Deep dark eyes looked at mines, then to the little finger, excited at the view in front of him. I could feel my cheeks burn. I was serious here and he was mocking me!
I made a pout and showed hands in to my pockets. The other chuckled, deep soft sound hitting the center of my heart, burning like an image of Kai and Suzume.
The taller boy shook his head, taking out my hand from the pocket. The large pinky finger hugging the smaller one.
"I believe you, it's a promise."
That's when it happened. Something fast flew right near me, hitting the smiling blonde in front. The sounds turned off and I couldn't understand what was going on. The boy closed one of his eyes, panting from the sudden pain. I looked around, trying to find someone who did this. The sounds came on, when other bullet hit the nearest tree. I didn't even have time to get scared, when the big palm grabbed my arm, ordering to run.
......
The huge blast sound reached Kai's ears, making him get up from the bench he was sitting on with his comrade Yuki. They were both talking about the little boy, who ran out just a few hours ago and the soft smokes surrounded them, making the raven boy relax. The crashed phone was still in his hands, clasped firmly as if Kai was still waiting for someone to call. Maybe he was? He didn't know.
"What was that?" Yuki asked, standing next to Kai, throwing the cigarette on the ground. Everyone looked to the one direction - green forest and Kai's heart skipped a beat.
"It's gunshots," Kai whispered, before coming back from the dazing off. "Everyone! Prepare your guns and close the gates, I need five men to go with me, hurry up. Our leader is in danger!" Kai commanded and leather jacketed sea started to move.
"I will come too!" Yuki said without even thinking. Since when does he cares about the leader?
Kai looked at the other, bitter smile on his face."I need you to stay here, in case someone tries to came from the front," His gently eyes went sharp, the plan forming quickly in his mind. He squeezed the leather jackets pocket, where he held his gun. First time in his life, he'll use this. Kai admit, he was scared.
"We're ready to go," One of the leather jacketed guys reported and raven boy nodded.
We are coming.
......
"What was that?" I whispered through the gritted teeth, trying to stop panting.
We were somewhere deep in the bushes, it was like a big sea of green leafs. A camoflage. I begged for gods to make this a good hide out. "It's Hebi with some back up, they're after me," Reita answered quickly, covering his bleeding arm.
"Why they're after you?" I asked, covering my hands in blood as I try to stop the bleeding.
Reita looked at my hands pushing them gently away. "Don't get yourself dirty,"
"I'm already dirty and I don't want you to die here! Not in front of me!" I whispered angrily. Really, not in the mood for dead bodies!
"It's not the first time, I won't die," The other boy answered, looking away from me.
What an adventurous life of mine! I grab his face, putting our foreheads together. "Listen, you, manly leader, tell me what's going on right now and you can live happily, running away from the bullets without me, okay?" I was pissed of. The boiling blood quickly running through my veins.
"Calm down," Reita said, burning breath hitting my skin. "I'll tell you, just calm yourself down. They will find us,"
I sighed. No energy was left in me. I took off my hands from the others head. "Just...tell me," I said tiredly.
"We're in the war, Takanori,"
