In a nutshell

Last Friday, Todd and I hopped into my sassy little Yaris at 1:45pm and began a trek to Philadelphia, Pa. We met friends along the way (Abby, John, chris, Charles and Daniel) for dinner. We arrived in Philly around 10pm. OMG. Traffic was horrid!

We spent most of the weekend with Todd, Chris, Charles and Daniel playing in two Magic the Gathering tournaments while John, Abby and I eyeballed museums and shopping-ness. We hit South Street, The Franklin Institute and The Fine Arts Museum. We probably walked almost ten miles between Saturday and Sunday.

On Sunday afternoon Todd and I parted from the pack and cruised to New York, which only took three hours and we arrived just as my aunt was pulling dinner from the oven. Nice!

For three whole days, Todd, my aunt Elisia and I worked on re-screening my grandma's front porch. What tedious work! We probably worked for 25 hours those three days. The third day we had to work in the rain but we needed to paint the panels and use a table saw to trim some trim. We set up something akin to a large activities tent with netting on the sides and tarp-like material on the top and we worked in the rain. It was cold and tedious.

Wednesday night Todd and I bade good-bye to those folks and we headed further north to my uncle Billy's. We had Chinese and caught up until 1am. Wow!

Thursday morning Todd and I left at 8am and started home. I did not sleep well Wednesday night so I knew Thursday would be a long day. It took eleven and a half hours to drive home. Traffic sucked from New Jersey (about two hours into the trip) through Fredricksburg (forty-five minutes north of Richmond). How aggravating.

Friday I slept in a bit and went to Enigma to have my "short sleeves" outlined. Poor Andrew had to redraw the designs over and over so the whole session took five and a half hours. He only charged me $100! I plan to bring him more money once I grab some. The outlines look amazing though. Todd and I met for dinner then my dad and step-mom met us for dessert. Todd and I crashed once we got home.

Today we both slept in; turns out we both set the times on our alarms but neither of us turned them on! Todd was supposed to get up at 6am to head to Roanoke for another Magic Tournament. I was supposed to get up at 6:30 to leave for work. I awoke when I was supposed to be leaving. Very frustrating. I only arrived at work five minutes late though. Not bad!

Work was ridiculous and busy. I spent the afternoon with my mom and sister trying to organize my mom's front room, where she has most of her deceased parents' belongings waiting to be sorted. We're talking boxes of books, clothing, glass, photos, crap in general. We had dinner at Friendly's and now I'm home with Todd and we're going to watch something...

We haven't seen the series finale of "Lost" yet. We have two episodes of "Fringe" to watch. My life is too busy. I wish tattoos could be given without quite as much discomfort.
