Weekend Recap....Boooo Yahhh!!!

Well, well, well....here I go again. This weekend can be summed up in one word, four letters...b-u-s-y. I spent friday night, all day saturday, and most of the day sunday over at UCF. I worked baseball friday night and sunday, and worked the men's basketball game saturday afternoon.

Friday night's baseball game was against the #2 LSU Tigers. We played pretty decent and actually forced them into extra innings, but they ended up winning 6-5 in 10. Good confidence booster for UCF baseball. Overall though, it was good to get back into the swing of things with baseball. It's my sport, and I miss playing it alot. Before the game started that night I was sitting in the Press Box having a discussion with one of the other guys who works up there with me about baseball, and I didn't realize I missed that much until then. It's hard for other people to understand that competitive side of me and not only the physical aspect of baseball but the mental part of it as well. I was a pitcher when I played in HS. I also played some first base and once out in the outfield, but pitching was my main thing. I loved having control of the game. Knowing that the play won't start until I threw the pitch, or indirectly effecting the outcome of the upcoming play. I loved the mind games I used to play with the batter. Looking in to see what pitch was to be thrown next and then trying to figure out where the batter was expecting the ball and what type of pitch. Anyways, I like it when I work UCF baseball because I try to put my mind in that game mode again, eventhough I am sitting up in the Press box.

Saturday was a really long day. I had to go up to UCF earlier than I had expected because there was a problem with one of the computers that plays the music so I had to go and make sure that there was plenty of music loaded on our secondary machine. I got through with that alot sooner than I had expected so I decided to head out to watch the second game of the baseball series before I had to go back into the UCF Arena for basketball. It was kinda grey and crappy outside so it really wasnt much fun. So I went to grab a bite with one of my friends before I had to start music for the basketball game, and thatwas cool cause it broke up the monotony of the day. Today's basketball game was being broadcast on Sunshine Network. One of the announcers who was there was Whit Watson. I know you are saying who??? Well he used to be on ESPN and he is a Famous FIJI. I was pretty stoked about that because I had wrote him a letter about a month ago to contact him and let him know that we had a chapter here in Orlando where he now lives. After the game I went up and introduced myself to him and he was a really nice guy. That's the first Famous FIJI I have met and it was a pretty cool experience for me. Anyways, UCF beat $tet$on by 20 points so that capped off day that turned out better than expected. Of course it was valentine's day and since I had no valentine I stayed at home and watched the NBA Slam Dunk and 3-Point contests. They were pretty lame. Now, I know better for next year....ask and I shall receive, hehehehehe. Oh well.

UCF baseball ended up winning the last game of the series on Sunday. The game went into extra innings again and it was a dramatic ending as UCF won on the final at bat of the 10th inning. Long day and I was draggin' ass but it was worth it to be a part of that game. I was kinda disappointed because I missed the Daytona 500 but I guess thats the price I have to pay sometimes.

Well, enough of my boring blah blah blah...hope to see ya next time! Catch ya on the flipside Mr. Bass!!
