Well I had a great weekend, wasnt incredibly boring like the last few were. It started out on friday when Tiffany called me in the afternoon because they needed an extra player for the beach volleyball tournament the apartment complex was having. If I would have known about it I probably would have signed up sooner, but they talked them into letting me sign up and play on friday. We just wanted to play in the tournament for fun since none of us are really that good at it, and we thought since the teams were "random" that it would be fun. Yea right, one of the teams was obviously stacked with all the best players and they were killing everybody. When it was our turn to play them they completely destroyed us, mostly due to one of our teammates' lack of effort. However I did block a spike (bad too, like crowd go wild bad) and score our team's only point though. I'm starting to recapture my old volleyball skills from high school, I just need to get out there and play more. So I called Cheryl up that night since I havent been doing a good job of keeping in touch and we talked for a while. We ended up going to city walk, which was surprising my first time going downtown since I moved down here. We pretty much did what people do at city walk, walk around and talk (we had a lot of catching up to do). After that she took me back to my apartment, I had to wake up early the next morning to go get the front brakes fixed on my truck. That cost me close to $200, but oh well. I gave my friend Tim a call to come pick me up from the dealership and I bought him breakfast for doing it, so I got to hang out with him for the first time in a while too. Saturday night was just the usual combination of work and sleep. Sunday was quite the adventure, I left for winter haven at around 11am thinking I would get to the game around 12-12:30. Ha, would have if I-4 werent the worst road EVER. I moved about 10mph for around 30 minutes and even missed me exit because traffic was so bad. I ended up getting off at a later exit and taking some country backroad to winter haven (which I would discover on the way back was actually a shorter route than the real way). I got into winter haven around 12:40, plenty of time to get to the game on time....if I could find the ballpark. I didnt find the ballpark till around 1 and I had to park and everything so I missed the top of the 1st inning. Cheryl tried to get off to go to the game with me but nobody would take her shift. The game was fun, but I think it would have been better if she were there with me. But hey my seats were next to a really nice group of old people from Ohio so I got to cheer for the Indians with them, and boy did I cheer. The game ended in a 2-2 tie which felt like a ripoff to me, apparently they dont play past 10 innings in spring training games bah! I drove back to Orlando after that and went over to Tiffany's apartment where a bunch of people were watching Ice Age. After that I went back to the apartment, chilled, and hit the sack. This week should be interesting to say the least, Cheryl talked me into going to salsa dancing lessons so I hope I dont make a fool out of myself (of course I will). Also spring break is next week, yes! Ben Owens signing out.
