The arrogance of tyranny has always left a bad taste in my mouth. Something akin to that lingering metallic almost offensive flavor one might discover when they are suffering from a bad viral infection. Statements, accusations and agendas that should appear ridiculous are often lapped up by the populace. People in any nation desperately want to believe in their government. Its so much easier to accept whatever the leadership is saying then to look for the truth. Let alone do something about it.
I pity the people of Iran. All of the bloodshed, destruction and conflict appears to have done nothing other then galvanize their nation’s leadership to refuse to address the problem of their last election. The news this morning points to a new misinformation campaign. Blaming foreigners for their current problems as a means to distract that country from the issues at hand. It will probably work too, at least enough for the Iran’s government.
For a little while.
