things that are kicking ass
For whatever reason, my parking has been free at Wayne State these past two weeks! I'm hoping this stays the whole semester, because it is taking some of the sting out of using the gas to get out there.
Ended up not going to the Motor City Comic Con, but last night Jess and I got together some vodka and sunny delight, and got drunk watching Rocky Horror and Labyrinth. I hadn't seen Rocky Horror before, and it's definitely a strange movie. Not as strange as I expected, but still out there. And today I got to see Stardust, at Christine's! We also went two chapters further into ILB. She now wants a talking beverage machine, and a Durga.
Also, as I got up to her area before she got home, I stopped off at Microcenter to see if they had SNK Arcade Classics for PS2. Well, although they supposedly had two, they weren't in the store itself. The trip was not a bust however, as I procured a new shooter for Wii: Castle Shikigami 3. It plays like the previous two on PS2, and is pretty sweet. The basic idea is that if you graze enemy bullets without actually getting close enough to die, your attack gets powered up from the "tension." I didn't even know it was out yet, as Amazon doesn't have it listed as coming out until next week, and Gamestops do not stock these niche, 2d games like they used to. I also saw World Heroes Anthology there, the first time I've ever seen it at a brick and mortar shop.
Still no word on the Neo Geo, which I'm hoping is a good thing.
Both Doctor Who and Galactica were awesome this week. Galactica in particular was intense, and had me cursing the fact that we are two weeks to the next new ep. Oddly, Doctor Who is also getting next Saturday off.
Sonics opens Wednesday! I'm gonna have to check them out next paycheck.
