Apparently there is more to the decline, in the past decade or so, of putting two spaces after sentences than mere laziness (or that HTML necessitates tricks to do it).

I've been told that in classic typography it is not normal, and that the convention came about with typewriters, with their fixed-width type.  But i don't see how fixed-width type ( Read more... )
