I understand whole heartedly. I have some co-workers in the office that ask about my significant other and want to know everything that we're up to. Then there are others that don't care to know anything. I appreciate and treasure those that do show a sincere effort at being interested in my outside life.

I tell you what, if you or Robert got into a uniform ;) and brought flowers and were generally sappy and cutesy on your anniversary, I would coo and oo and awww!

Let us start "Anniversary Day" where ALL couples can make fools of themselves and share love with everyone! Not like Valentine's Day, that's a little more private romance and commercial. You start on your anniversary, and I'll start on mine! And if my husband won't get into a uniform, I will! =)

But we want stories and pictures and blush counts!

I, at least, made the women in my department jealous one Valentine's Day. My (now ex-)partner sent me flowers. Theirs did not.

hehe.

It's mostly the uniform. Straight women swoon over that almost as much as they do new shoes.

Hey man, listen I am sure it's frustrating, but not all straight people disapprove you know. I happen to be straight and so is my hubby, but I'd be equally happy for you on an anniversary. I don't think your sexuality ever drove me away. We just didn't get to hang out much when you were still in town here. I think you are awesome just the way you are.

Ahh, I guess I was pretty harsh. I didn't really mean it like that - of course I wasn't speaking about everyone...I guess I have just developed a pessimistic view about being able to be open about myself, and being accepted, and not being annoying or displeasing to other people. After all, look where I went to school :P I never thought that me being gay had anything to do with anything between us, hehe. And thanks, you're awesome too :P

Still got those boots you ordered when we were both working at the lab??

Heck yea I still have those boots. I don't wear them as much as I once did though. I understand being frustrated. There are things, such as religion that I don't open up about publicly. So although it does not relate to love, I do understand.
