Opinions on EBAY

I had an idea about offering services like logo design, a VERY basic website setup, or a corporate identity package
on EBAY, as a way of trying to drum up some new prospects, and lo & behold, there are already a number of designers that are doing this, and apparently successfully at that. True, some are selling for VERY inexpensive rates, like a "buy it now" of $79 for a logo design, consisting of 3 base designs, and then re-tooling of one of them til the client is happy, and then multiple file formats all e-mailed to the client (so no S&H charges).
What I'd like to know is:
A) has anyone in the community tried this

B) if this is viable.

If someone HAS tried it, when you submit THREE choices to the client, how do you insure that the client won't nick either of the other 2 as a "backup", since you;re e-mailing files, as opposed to an in-person consultation where they only see but don't KEEP hard copies of the ones they rejected? I know you can plaster watermarks all over, and encode the image to not print, but he/she might still be able to show to someone else to copy.

Cheers!
