This year's Vividcon was really awesome in a way that last year (my first VVC) wasn't.  That's not to say that last year's con wasn't awesome, but there's something really fantastic about showing up at the hotel and seeing people you know and like.  Last year was a little difficult because I really didn't know anyone, so I spent most of the weekend ( Read more... )

I only have two weeks left of my Master's degree, and I keep expecting to suddenly develop some sort of nostalgic feelings for this place or this department or something.  But really, I just can't wait to leave.  I'll miss some of the people, but the best thing this experience has given me is a sense of what I don't want, and it'll be nice getting ( Read more... )
