(. ^ _ ^ .)
In a small town, there was an ordinary high school which was so lively because of the students' laughter, joy, talk, activities, friendship, and of course puppy love. They spent their days mostly at school. A lot of them chose to be best in studying. They were lucky because they had dreams to reach and left behind the fashion, lifestyle, trend, and whatever called modern era. The students in big city might think that they were weird, nerd, old-fashioned because of how ignorant they were to what was mostly update and cool to use/do/buy for teenagers around the world. Okay, call them everything, but they were actually the best because they raised in good environment with so much love for nature, future, and their neighbourhood. They chose to protect their ordinary life as students because they can use/do/buy anything they want when the time came. They did not find the reason why they had to ruin their teenager time with every thing that would not be useful for their future.
In truth, they just wanted to be as ordinary as possible because their family only had little money so being able to keep studying in a proper school has already been more than enough.
So many ways they did to be always happy and made a lot of good memories, especially in their third year. Why? Of course because they would start their battle to be survived in the new world called work after the graduation.
The students were busy with studying and having fun with their friends. Almost nothing bad happened there which maybe most people would not believe. They got along well. Their chemistry was strong. They were the pictures of what students must act in their ages. They were like the exact mirror of what students were in the most places which often made people only could shook their heads grimly.
Well, overall, this school was full of good boys and girls. However, the school was thrilled every time they witnessed the battle of two boys. They were the legend there because the two were fighting over the years in high school. The graduation day came soon, but nothing changed. They stood in front of each other, ready to fight over the field which was small but it was the dream field for many sport club activity.
So far, only the two boys, on behalf of their sport clubs; football and baseball, which monopolized the field after the never ending battle. They were so stubborn and strong both in personality and their skills, so other clubs decided to use the field when the two boys were tired or busy enough to fight each other.
So...who were these two?
Let's the introduction began. The first boy was Akanishi Jin. He was the captain of football club. He had built body, handsome face, good grade, well let's say he was the dream boy of many girls at school. Then the second boy was Kamenashi Kazuya. He was the captain of baseball club. Kazuya was so pretty. He was so lean and small, and he had feminine side that he desperately tried to deny. He was not good in studying so he tried to be best in his favourite sport. Let's say, he was the opposite of Jin which made their friends find it was so interesting to watch them fighting. It was mostly like watching two lovely birds fighting. It showed how nice just to see them together. They were really eye candy. Their interactions were so entertained.
Every week they fought, bickering mostly, and when they were exhausted they did jan-ken-pon to decide who was the winner.
"I win," Jin grinned. He shoved his fisted hand right into the air. He grinned, mocking Kazuya.
"I hope the rain will fall," Kazuya said in annoyance.
"Oh, don't worry baby. Rain is my friend. Unlike you who will catch a cold just because a flick of rain touch your head," Jin patted Kazuya's head. His grin went wide.
Kazuya pouted. Jin stated the truth, but like hell he would admit that.
"Just play and give me this field before the sun set," Kazuya tasted sourness to plea like this. It somehow pricked his pride a little.
Jin frowned. "You're weird." He commented.
"I think it's weird to a weirdo said it," Kazuya grinned in return.
"If I am a weirdo, you're my baby then."
"Stop it Akanishi. Don't call me baby anymore."
"Don't see a reason why I have to stop. You seem enjoying being babied."
"What?" Kazuya frowned and Jin mirrored him. He found Kazuya so weird lately. He was more...soft toward him. In usual, Kazuya would see red immediately when he was being annoyed or bothered by him.
So....awkward. Even the audience aka their friends watched them speechless. This was exactly new. No bickering until smoke as if came out of Kazuya and Jin's ears, no dangerous event happened which make them had to part the two before they killed one another, no dramatic or amazing expression, they just....stood there. This was really weird.
"Don't talk nonsense. Just kick the ball and left right after you're done," Kazuya sighed. He turned, step by step going away from Jin who was in the state to forget how to form a word.
Jin just watched Kazuya leave him. The cheer of his team was fading into the back of his ears. He should be happy for winning the battle. They could play football the whole afternoon, but Jin felt weird. Why did he feel lonely instead?
The battle that usually took forever was ended in a weird way today. Jin could not help to wonder what was wrong. Kazuya maybe drank something that made him so soft. It felt like Kazuya just giving up. Perhaps Kazuya realised how tiring and ridiculous it was to fight and became the entertainment for others.
For weeks, Kazuya kept repeating his so called surrendering action. Jin was angry. He wanted them to fight fair, but Kazuya seemed not interested.
"Hi baby!!! Miss me?!" Jin screamed from the field. He waved to Kazuya who watched him in the third floor class.
Kazuya just rolled his eyes. The cheers of students who watched the football exercise change into teasing cheers. The two were famous as enemy but they were also famous as lovey-dovey pair just for the sake of the students to have fun.
Even though the field were full of friends and fans who wanted to watch Jin and the team closer, the windows were also full of students who were mainly Jin's secret admires. Jin was always aware of a pair of eyes that follow his every move. It was because the eyes shot him with anger and menacing cold eyes. Yes, those were Kazuya's eyes. But...lately...that feeling changes. It was warm, almost angst.
Jin stopped. What? Angst? It was as if Kazuya watched him with longing eyes. Was it love?
Eh wait...love?
......
....
...
LOVE????
Jin looked up. His heartbeat sped up. Kazuya was there, on the window frame, asleep. His head was on his folded hands, as if he fell asleep in the middle of watching him.
Like always Kazuya was on the same spot every time Jin practised on the field. He just realised that Kazuya never left his position until his practice was done. He thought Kazuya only there to swear at him or irritated him, but now, somehow, he felt that Kazuya was there to cheer him with his own way. Even when there was bad weather with strong wind and heavy rain, Jin kept practising not to be lost in the next match. Only Kazuya who watch him up there, just watch him with keep showing him his upside down thumb to mock him about the lost in the previous match. It burnt Jin's anger. He practised harder to show Kazuya that he would not give up. He would be the best.
Then...he finally figured out that Kazuya was his top attention during his days in high school. Every thing was about Kazuya. He fought over the field just so he could see Kazuya. Their bickering was his way to kept talking to him. He practised like crazy just to prove that he was the best in Kazuya's eyes. He was actually happy to be watched by Kazuya over the window. He felt that he was being cared for.
Okay....Jin was...crazy....in lov...

....
DUAAAAAAK!!!
......
..
BRUK!!!!
Kazuya was awakened because of those sound. He rubbed his eyes, trying to catch what happened. He frowned as many students pooled on the field, surrounding something.
"Baka," Kazuya breathed as he knew that Jin was on the ground, being knocked out by a ball.
......
....
..
~two hours later~
Jin closed the door behind him angrily. The school was over today. The sun ready to set.
Kazuya turned around. He leant on the window in his class. The thin and white curtain flying gently as the wind blew slightly. The orange color of the sky created wonderful effect as if framed Kazuya with its beauty.
The wind touched Kazuya's hair, tousled it around his face. He tried to stop it, holding his tousled hair over his cheek. His eyes looked so shining with brown honey eyes color in them. The view was so mesmerising, taking Jin's breath away.
Well, thanks to the bum on his head, the pain radiated from it, forcing him to quit his admiration towards Kazuya.
He walked quite fast and stopped right before Kazuya who only raised one of his eyebrows.
"Take responsibility," Jin said out of the blue.
"For what?" Kazuya asked.
"Because of you I got this bum," Jin pointed to his bum. It was swollen and red. Kazuya tried not to laugh. Jin really looked funny with a bum on the right of his forehead.
"Not funny. It's getting worst when you didn't go to see me!" Jin sulked.
"Well, I think you are this weird because of the bum," Kazuya caressed the bum lightly.
"Sadist baby," Jin hissed as his grabbed Kazuya's wrist. He glared at Kazuya.
"Call me that again and you will have another bum," Kazuya threatened.
"Like you can," Jin challenged.
"Yes I can," Kazuya mocked.
They repeated those line until their faces got closer until just 3 centimetres.
"Kiss me if you dare," Jin changed the challenge.
"Like I would. I just don't understand you at all," Kazuya said. His cheeks were flushed at their proximity. He even put his palms on Jin's chest to at least create some distance between them.
"I am crazy," Jin said, tingling his head in the process.
"Yeah..." Kazuya stared at Jin's lips which were getting closer to his.
"Don't worry, our battle is never end because I'll go to the same university as yours. So...don't be sad about the graduation."
"What are you talking about?" Kazuya's voice trembled. Jin could see right through him. He thought it would be impossible for Jin to break his facade. He covered his true feelings for Jin with the hate he show in their battle. In the end he was lost. Jin was being the winner. He win Kazuya's heart even from the first time he saw Jin on the field.
He was so sad about the graduation. Thinking they would be separated, but now, Jin declared that after the graduation there was nothing to worry about. How happy Kazuya was at the moment.
"Love me?" Jin looked at Kazuya's eyes.
"Hate you," Kazuya said, grinning as he could see something he was waiting for reflected in Jin's eyes.
"Crazy for me then."
"Yeah...crazy...we are crazy indeed," Kazuya chuckled.
Jin smiled. Kazuya's smile told all. He leant down and captured Kazuya's lips. He would not mind to battle with Kazuya anytime because it was the unique way of them to show how cared they were to each other. It was crazy...well at least in love...
