London for fathers day... Originally my father had told me not to come when I told him I was coming down.. my parents were having people over for the weekend to watch the soccer game. but then I guess he felt bad and told me to come, but I had already made a hair appt for Saturday that I didn't want to cancel... then I felt bad because I remembered it was father's day.... so here I am.... although I haven't spent any time with my father since I've been here. I've just been blowning some money on cute clothes like I always do when I'm down here. You would think that I would go on these impulsive shopping episodes in TO with all the funky stuff they have there, but for some reason I feel that I can justify it more in london. London just brings out shopping for me because it was where it all began! Exciting isn't it?
Anywho my halmonee (grandmother) told me the other day that the old lady that lives in the apartment next to hers pours coffee over her rice and eats it. That's gross. Is it so inconvienent to have a cup and a bowl? Maybe it just tastes good I don't know. It does aging tend to rid people of their sense of taste? The other day, my grandmother packed me a mayonnaise and jam sandwich to take to work. Mike and I took a bite out of it to see how it tasted. It tastes like it sounds...it was awful. I don't think i can even explain how awful it tasted so I suggest you all go home and do it yourself. It's easy. Here's the recipe
-take two pieces of bread (white or brown you choice, although brown is healthier)
- Jam (rasberry was used for mine but any jam will do)
- mayonaise - it shouldn't matter what kind you use because i think all brands are capable of delivering the essence of nastiness to this sandwich
- spread the mayonaise and jam on the slices of bread, put one slice on top of the other (make sure it's symmetrical!) and take a bite!
- note: make sure a wastebasket is handy.
Speaking of food, one perk to coming down to my home in London when there's company is all the food my mom makes! wohho what a feast there was today. After this weekend I feel that I might not be able to fit in to the clothes i just bought! what a waste of money.... I might as well eat a 2L tub of ice cream now and get it over with. At least it would warm me up for the upcoming competition.
Anywho i'm getting pretty tired as i ramble on and on about nothing. so i must hit the hay.
