It's the devil

Oh dear, Defensive Driving Sucks. I'm so glad that I am close to being finished with it. Honestly, I lost IQ points by just listening to the videos. I love it- they make you promise that you will actually read everything in the course, and seeing as how the program is running right now, and I'm doing this, I've obviously upheld my end of the deal.

**DISCLAIMER**
All pictures below were attained from the on-line defensive driving course offered at www.defensivedriving.com. All images are represented as they were in their original contexts (unless you consider the fact that they have been edited).

I met some really cool people along the way...

“Hi. My name is Judge George Boyett, and I've been a justice of the peace in Brazos County since 1989. I'm going to explain a few things about the class you're about to attend. Please listen carefully because this is important information, which can make the difference in whether you receive your certificate or not. Although you may not feel like it now, it is a privilege to have the option of taking a driving safety course to dismiss a traffic violation, or receive up to a 10% discount off certain automobile insurance coverage.”

It's sad to think that rascisim still exists in our modern day society.

The Department of Motor Vehicles took the time to reveal the secrets of the anomalies of the open road.

I will admit, they tested me over a few things that I had never seen before. Thankfully however, they took the time to explain things to me.

“A RED ARROW on a left turn means STOP until a green signal or a green arrow appears.”

“A STOP sign means that you must make a full stop before entering a crosswalk or at a white stop line. When a crosswalk or stop line is not marked, stop at the corner. Check for traffic before crossing. Wait until it is safe before going forward. On divided highways, a STOP sign for crossing or turning vehicles is often placed on the island or dividing strip which separates the lanes of traffic moving in different directions. You must stop before turning across oncoming lanes of traffic if such a sign is present.”

“When you see a YIELD sign, slow down, be ready to stop, and let traffic (including people walking or riding bikes) pass. Go ahead only when it is safe.”

They proved to me that danger can come, not only when you are driving a vehicle, but even when you are simply standing near one.

Their test questions were so hard...
To help avoid skidding on slippery surfaces, you should:
A. Drive more slowly
B. Avoid quick stops
C. Both choices listed are correct
Two sets of solid double yellow lines on the pavement indicate:
A. You may not cross to make a left turn
B. You may pass
C. You may make a U-turn
It is illegal in most instances to pass a car at a:
A. Crossroad
B. Railroad crossing
C. Shopping center entrance
D. All choices listed are correct
This video indicates the safest place in a car is the:
A. Back seat
B. Front seat
C. Hood (Honestly- the hood?)
The speed limit near schools when lights are flashing is usually:
A. 15 mph or 20 mph (depending on the area)
B. 35 mph
C. 65 mph (I think it's this one)
It is important to keep _____ around you when you are driving.
A. A blanket
B. A "space cushion"
C. A "space blanket" (I can't tell you how awful it is to get caught without your space blanket)
When you speed it is:
A. Easier to control your car
B. Harder to steer your car
C. Easier to react in time

On top of all of this, they really had some interesting facts to tell.
Your driving motion is controlled by
Speed
Braking
Steering
These three are affected by these natural laws:
Gravity
Centrifugal Force
Inertia
Kinetic Energy
(^Schweiger would be so proud)

They even knew math for drunks!
In general, drinking is the same: 1 beer = 1 glass of wine = 1 shot of liquor

P.S. I was originally going to make those little kids in front of the bus get chased by Michael Jackson. When I did a Google Image search, this is what came up...
