Since Heroes and Lost are such huge successes it seems like every new show has incorporated some sort of supernatural element. Good news for the geek in me - I just worry about the market becoming too saturated and an inevitable backlash.
NBC likes:
The Bionic Woman: Yeah, I'm gonna watch it. Wouldn't you?
Chuck: Computer geek by day, unlikely hero by night. The premise sounds promising but this is by the same guy who created The O.C. and director McG. How long before the geek uses his powers to date a cheerleader? How long? And what about the mousy best friend right in front of his face?
Ft. Pit: Denis Leary's cop show project after Rescue Me.
Journeyman: Man goes back in time to fix events. Modern telling of Quantum Leap. I predict that this show is going to fail miserably. The only way this would work is if he could travel through ALL parts of time: the crucifixion, Roman times, the dinosaurs. CGI madness.
Tom Fontana (NYPD Blue, Oz) also has a new show and Jane Lynch is in a supernatural office comedy called Area 57.
CBS likes:
Babylon Fields: It's a freakin drama about zombies. ZOMBIES!!!!
Twilight: The exact same show as Angel, only this one sucks. Please don't let them choose this over the zombie show.
I'm In Hell: Wall street broker who dies and is sentenced to live a "hell on earth".
There's also a show about insomniacs. Could be promising.
Fox and ABC have absolutely nothing I'm interested in, although there is some cartoon about animals by Robert Smiegel. Let's hope it doesn't turn into Father of the Pride.
CW likes:
The Reaper: Devil's bounty hunter reclaims souls who have escaped from hell. Comedy. Seems like this would get tedious after a few episodes. But I wasn't a huge fan of Dead Like Me.
Let's hope I'm making enough money by the fall to afford a TiVo.
