how I spent my summer vacation

I've been meaning to post all week but haven't gotten around to it. I got back last Sunday, had two more days off and walked into a giant pile of work at the office.

GenCon was good. Getting out of town was even better. I bought too much stuff, wandered about and generally enjoyed myself.

Indianapolis is still a nice place to visit. Next time I go up there, I want to try the paddle boats. We passed a little pen of them that didn't seem to be connected to a larger body of water. Curiosity will have it's way with me.

Continuing our tradition of finding and trying odd-ball chips on vacation, Steve and I discovered Burger-King brand Onion Ring Potato Snacks (dreadful) and Ketchup and French Fry Chips (merely strange). We took pictures. I also found some soda called Flathead Lake Monster but I never got to try it. I didn't have a bottle opener and then forgot it in the hotel fridge. Top all of this off, we discovered Dale Ernhardt (did I spell that right?) commemorative Hershey bars. You, too, can now take a big bite out of Senior's head.

Now I have a cold. I fought it off for the whole week and then last night it hit me. It involves a lot of snot and the feeling that I've just swallowed battery acid. Stupid viruses.

I wish it would get about this raining. It's been trying to all day but the best nature has mustered locally is a weak sprinkling.

vacation, work-hate relationship, mi vida
