Was about half an hour through this AND THEN IT REFRESHES ALL WINDOWS ON ME. That is the WORST "FEATURE" IN EVER I just. FUCK.
Okay. So the first few recs aren't going to be as involved as they were, because I JUST FUCKING - argh.
Went to the doctor's today. That was a thing.
Today's meme is recs! In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you did not create. Drop a link to your post in the comments. See if you can rec fanworks that are less likely to be praised: tiny fandoms, rare pairings, fanworks other than stories, lesser known kinks or tropes. Find fanworks that have few to no comments, or creators new to a particular fandom and maybe aren't well known or appreciated. Appreciate them.
Tiny fandoms: xxxHolic, because it's the rarest of my main fandoms, I think, not that that says much.
• One Ordinary Night, With Wisteria (fic, canon-level Doumeki/Watanuki subtext.) Beautiful piece of writing which fits more or less seamlessly into canon.
Whatever his reason-laughter or lucre-Doumeki never strayed far from Watanuki's side, always hovering about like some particularly sarcastic species of vulture, waiting to see what kind of trouble Watanuki would land in next.
• The Professor's Wife (fic, Doumeki/Watanuki, other minor background relationships) End-of-canon AU! MUCH MORE SATISFYING. And actually works with Watanuki's early character development arc better.
Watanuki was taller now, although he was still nowhere as tall as Doumeki. Watanuki seemed to take this as an open act of aggression and called him a freak whenever he had to ask Doumeki to get something off the top shelf.
Rare Pairings:
• Together By Fate (Bleach, Isshin/Ryuuken fic, with plot-necessary background Ichigo/Ishida crack) It's not a surprise this is a rare pair, really. But it's fantastic, nevertheless. If you like Isshin, anyway.
"I know, I know," Isshin said sadly. "But not to worry! You can tell me your life story over dinner and I shall listen in a comforting and non-judgmental manner."
"I'm not telling you anything!" Ryuuken snapped. "Besides, I've already refused you once!"
"And I refuse your refusal!"
"I beg your pardon?"
"We're going to have a nice long talk over dinner, and then you're coming back to my house to see Uryuu-kun. Feel free to sob into my welcoming bosom any time you like."
"I think I'd rather die."
• 【腐】若赤鷹 (One Piece, Shanks/Mihawk fanmanga (doujin? is there a line?), Japanese only.) They're teenaged, in this, but still utterly themselves. And adorable. :x You might need a pixiv account to see it? ...if I ever translate fanmanga/doujin, this will probably be on the top of the pile.
• お酒が (One Piece, Shanks/Mihawk art) By the same artist as above, in case you can't see it. Also, colour! Hanami~~ And just. Casually intimate, I really do love this one.
• Night Off (Kingdom Hearts, Lea/Ven fic) ...I'm incapable of being unbiased, but. <3

• Swingersverse -- Master Post (DCMK, various) Is poly 'lesser known'? Maybe not written about much. There's Heiji/Shinichi, Heiji/Shinichi/Hakuba, and Heiji/Hakuba porn written so far, but they're far from the only relationships, and not anyone's primary ones.
• Also there's quite a bit of asexual!Sherlock fic, which is pretty awesome but not exactly strange in that fandom, but maybe is in fandom at large? Iono.
• Fledgling (Naruto fic, Hinata) This one is an unusual narrative structure.
