25 - Music - Do you listen to music while you write? Do you make playlists to get into a certain "mood" to write your fic? Do you need noise in general? Or do you need it completely quiet?
...yes? I listen to music, but it's whatever music I'm into at the moment - or, well, replaying whatever I was listening to last, a lot. Hitting play and getting whatever is something I do quite a bit. I don't need noise, and if I'm really into something I often forget to put something on once an album/playlist ends, but I do prefer to have it. I don't tend to make playlists for fic, but I make playlists just 'cause I want to and play them when writing? Does that count?
I can't deal with tv, though. Or people talking in general, but I'm much more likely to be able to ignore real live people than tv noise. (I think it has to do with the fact that the tv in my house is usually on stupid documentaries, which inherently make me want to scream and rave, which then expanded to all tv. I - look, I don't have anything against good docos. But my father watches WWII docos, renovation docos, house-buying docos, English archeology docos, and Stupid American Docos Where They Tell You Exactly What's Going To Happen In The First Thirty Seconds And Spend The Rest Of The Hour Going Over It Again And Again.
They all have pretty much the same content. When you've heard.... oh, fifty or so docos on exactly the same theme, you get really fucking sick of them. Unless you're my father, apparently. (Except for the fact that he watches tv all weekend and then whines he's bored. I'M SORRY BUT MAYBE IF YOU DIDN'T KEEP WATCHING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER!?)
Also Sibling watches a lot of Stupid American Comedies - "classic" Simpsons/Family Guy/Scrubs/Better Off Ted/How I Met Your Mother/Friends/etc., and. ARGH. I DO NOT FIND YOU FUNNY. I find you obnoxious and often embarrassment-squicky! Ffffff.
