Things
So, things have been happening, I 'spose.
First things first.
School -
So, in my infinite wisdom in deciding to pursue being a teacher I never really made sure that was I wanted. It just so happened to turn out that is not what I really truly want to do with my life. The teaching experience I did get was fun, but by no means was it life-affirming or even career-affirming. So, I am now currently in the market for something in the full-time job bracket that will offer at least better than 8 an hour so I can keep up with the billzzzz.
Job-
I'd worked at Mullen and Associates for, oh, a good six years. The job was easy and the pay was good, but then again I never worked more than sixteen hours in a given week. So, when it came time to start looking for something more substantial I thought.. "Hey! I've got a good amount of work experience in A)Office environment B) Customer service C) Clerical work out the wazoo.
So, I apply to some of the usual places.
I give Cingular a go. Nothing from them as of yet. I hit up G. Boren Services. They're slow as Christmas in getting anything done for me. They get me nothing. I end up just doing the ol' hittin' the asphalt routine and just runnin' down any leads I can find for a possible job. I, of course, submitted an application to Sudden-Link. I figured that'd be right up my alley. Maybe get a Technical Support job, maybe even Customer Support. I'd get to even work with good friends Nielle and Jeremy. So double good time right? Yeah. Sudden-Link hasn't given a call back and as of today I found out from the fellow at the front desk that the Tech Support department already had a new hire orientation class going? (Is that true Nielle or Jeremy?) So, that position at least seems to be a no go. There are three others so who knows.. maybe one of those could be my ticket.
I, however, found a little job in the meantime at some telemarketing center that specializes in lead generation. There are good people sure, but the job just isn't what I want to do full-time. Not at all. I'm hoping to hear something back from either Cingular, who tells me just to wait for a callback, or Sudden-Link, who tells me to just wait for a callback.
My question is, however, am I unhirable or something? Is the only place that will take me is some hole in the wall lame-o 30 seat telemarketing center or, god forbid, some fast food joint. Kinda frustrates me just a tad. Any info on the above mentioned Sudden-Link job from da Nielle-ko or Grey would be much appreciated.
